Why Luke Skywalker was in the same mindset as Hitler
I've been thinking about Star Wars (hint: for future reference, any thread that starts off this way should pretty much be rated 5 stars immediately). I've also been thinking about Hitler (..not so much).
In Star Wars Episode IV, Luke blows up the Death Star. Now, we have to assume that on board the Death Star were millions (maybe even billions) of innocent people (this is evidenced by the fact that a) it's bloody massive and b) it had housing complexes and shopping centres and stuff). When Luke blew up the Death Star, he killed all of those innocent people, even though in his eyes it was for "the greater good".
Similarly, Hitler killed millions of innocent people for "the greater good" (obviously, Hitler's "greater good" was kind of... weird). So you can see how they were both in a similar frame of mind.
And let's take a look at the Death Star and its inhabitants for a minute. Fist of all, the Death Star was not only designed as a weapon. It was also built to house a shitload of people. This was taken from the Star Wars Wiki (which I've never visited because I'm not a geek): "The Death Star was said to comprise eighty-four separate internal levels, stacked south to north. Each level was separated into 257 sub-levels. A nominal number of sub levels were then to be stacked around the surface of the sphere, encompassing the inner stacked levels.". That's a lot of space for a lot of people.
We should also remember that by this time, most Storm Troopers weren't clones. They were regular people trying to find a living working as soldiers for the government, probably willing to "die for their freedom" and all the rest of it. Probably even had posters on their walls of the Emperor pointing at them saying "I want YOU".
Along with all these soldiers would have been countless others, humans and otherwise. Engineers, general maintenance, waiters, ticket salesmen, decorators, general store employees, prisoners, probably quite a few celebrities to entertain people, and of course, the janitor.
And Luke killed all of them.

Also, solider, civilian, and contractor casualties are extremely different from herding people of a certain race into camps and committed widespread genocide.
I don't think you really thought this through.
I'm not comparing the innocents on board the Death Star to the victims of the holocaust in terms of race, the comparison I'm making is that they both killed millions of people for the greater good.
And no, I didn't think this through, but that only strengthens my argument!
(I didn't think that through either)
