WoW Top 10 challengers that could dethrone its dominance

edited January 2010 in General Chat
I found an interesting article about MMO's that could dethrone WoW's #1 spot in MMORPG. Personally i think i've had enough of paying and loosing hours of my life after this game. It's also a security liability since the hacks and cheaters are running rampant especially in NCsoft. But if i where to buy an mmorpg game definetly the ones i would choose would be FF14, GW2, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Anyway im posting the link of the article for discussion!

I've always been sort of into Guild Wars, so I'm waiting around for the second. I like the fact that it limits the max level so you can get into battling and farming very early, so it's fun to play around with friends once in a while.

Otherwise I dislike monthly fees and grinding to death + KILL X NUMBER OF ENEMIES quests so most MMO's don't interest me.

Sadly, no. I beat Prophecies and Factions' story mode thingies, got half-way into Eye of the North, and haven't bought Nightfall yet. I stopped mainly because the one friend who was still into it that I played with got a mac and it wouldn't work for him there, so I'm waiting around until he gets some compatibility going.

I beat all the campaigns! After that theres lack of novelty in storyline mode.

The only MMORPG that I've ever been tempted by is Warhammer Online, because I luuuuuuurve Warhammer. But I've also heard that it isn't very good, and that's come from people who have the same unholy lust for the tabletop game as I do.

I have to admit that that Lego one looks pretty awesome though...

Star trek online is pretty decent, and has the potential to at least dent WoW's sales, but STO still needs alot of work and debugging before that happens. Plus, with two more planned films to come out (compared to WoW's one), sales will undountedly be strong.
