Sam & Max resolution

edited February 2010 in Game Support
I launched S&M S01E01 yesterday, and the maximum resolution available was 1024x768. I have a NVIDIA 8800, and my video drivers are updated.
OS: WXP

Could someone help?

    The maximum is actually 1600x1200.

I don't really know why you can't select higher resolutions, but you can try running the DirectX updater.

Also please post a dxdiag log.

    dxdiag
Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.

Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

Then zip the file and attach it to a message.

Here are the highlights of my dxdiag. I really don't see anything unusual. I'm running CoD4 fullscreen, so...

Ok. First of all, you will not get be able to get 1680x1050, because the game only supports 4:3 resolutions. I can select 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960 and 1600x1200.

I don't really have the ultimate fix here, but some things you could try.
Install the latest Nvidia Driver and update your Windows XP (SP3 and other updates).

If that doesn't work you can use one of the prefs.prop files i attached to replace the one in your install folder to select the resolution.

If your display's maximum resolution is 1680x1050, you won't be able to get to 1600x1200, as that is bigger than what your monitor supports. (if your monitor can only get to 1050 pixels high, you can't render a 1200 pixel-high image)

Of course. I was going for the 1280x960 res.
