monkey island mac

edited February 2010 in General Chat
Just a quick question to any telltalers out there, if we've already purchased the full monkey island series can we get the mac version gratis? Or at least a mac disc instead of a pc disc? I was very saddened to have to cannibalize my mac and install windows to play Tales, but it was a necessary evil.

Now i have the opportunity to remove grimdows of my mac! So whats the deal? Do we have to pay again?

Nope! As far as I've heard, the MAC version will be available along with the PC version on the DVD. If you've already bought the game for Windows, MAC download links are also provided!

If you have already purchased the Windows verson of TMI through us, then yes, you can download the Mac version without any additional charge.

Just check the "Your Games" tab to see the games you have purchased and you'll see the Mac versions there ready to download!

(and yeah the DVD will include both versions, as mentioned in the TTG blog!)

I purchased Monkey Island, well got the first chapter for free, on Amazon. Currently to play it I have to use Crossover, but I was just wondering if there was anyway I could get the mac version of that.

I realize it was available on Telltale's website, but I'm an Amazon DOTD addict and didn't realize I didn't have to buy Amazon's version with the Amazon downloader until too late.

And one more thing, any plans for a physical release for any Telltale mac games? I'd be more likely to pay for physical releases, though I do realize the benefit of digital releases.

Edit: I guess I should change that to any previously released Telltale games.... My question is a bit more moot since if I enjoy the first chapter of TOMI I'll probably purchase the dvd.

I can't answer the first question, but i assume the answer is no, you can't. As for the second question, If you order the whole seasons from TTG directly, you also get the bonus DVD (CD in the case of bone), however, they are only the PC versions. Whether they will change the discs to contain the Mac version aswell is another question.

Bone is charged differently. It's download or CD, not both.

I would also like to ask about the previously released games like S&M, W&G, SBCG4AP. When the Mac versions of those come out (pleeeeeease be soon) will I be able to get another Mac disc if I already have a Windows disc? I had to boot camp my Mac to be able to play those and would love to be able to just get rid of that partition. I actually like running the games off of the disc, though, so I was just wondering if that would ever be possible for the Mac. Thank you for the Mac support, by the way. And for just being awesome.

I wouldn't say it's impossible, but it's a little unlikely. Those things are actually pretty expensive for us to print up unfortunately, and going back and doing a second mac-only run of those would be no small task. Still, it will be considered.

Thank you very much for the response. That was what I figured. I'm glad to know that you guys are considering it, but I figured that making entirely new runs of discs would be pretty pricey. My only real disappointment here is that when S&M 3 comes out (which I presume it will for Macs as well?) we'll have Mac owners with only one season DVD that will actually run on their machines. I'll pay shipping for the Windows discs just to collect the discs, I just wish I could make use of them in my only computer. Thank you very much.
