telltale won 2 world records this year!!!

edited February 2010 in General Chat
I just got the 2010 issue of the guiness book of world records video game edition, and I found 2 world records won by none other than telltale games. They were for most regular episodic adventure game which went to their sam and max series, and most waited and anticipated release for a video game sequal which of course tales won.
Also, not a telltale record but still, Secret of monkey island won best adventure game with htr coming in second.
Pics soon.

    DUDE. Seriously? That's awesome!

That is pretty awesome. Although, i'm sceptical over the "most anticipated" award. That's hardly measurable on a scale, plus the audience for the likes of modern warfare 2 was much larger, and had an equally rabid fanbase.

They had a larger audience, but they weren't waiting for as long. There was anticipation for a new MI game for 9-and-a-half years, whereas Modern Warfare 2 was released just two years after the first Modern Warfare.

How can you quantify such an award, I have no idea how it can be considered a record. There is no way to give it a specific value, let alone compare that value to another release. Guinness have gone downhill in a big way.

    That aside, well done!

Wow, the Guiness Book has taken another dive in quality.

That, or I care less about it now that I'm not a 10 year-old boy anymore, and I'm able to see it for the farce it always was.

A little from column A, a little from column B...
Most of the records aren't really records as such. It's just "i thought to do this with people around and GWR judges first". Take the StarTrek online world record attempt for most star trek cosplayers in one place. They got 99 and it's classed as a record. If they were to go to any ST/Sci-fi convention, that record would be smashed.

Tell me about it. One of the records I saw in the book of a couple of years ago was something like "most people running through the streets dressed as gorillas". Doesn't really get much worse than that.

But who can hate such a thing when it's so hilarious?

So, when shall we get together to smash the record for most people running through the streets dressed as gorillas?
