Just thought I'd let you know that AdventureGamers have posted their review of Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island (
giving it 3.5 stars
), now that the English version has finally been released. It's definitely worth a read, so I suggest checking it out. Though they've highlighted numerous negatives about the game, it's still made me yet more excited about getting my hands on it. They also ended the review with an interesting analogy which I found pretty funny.

I'm the most vocal anti A Vampyre Story person I know. I really want to give this game a chance but the comments on the writing worry me. However, I will say that Bill gave us the best game he could under his circumstances, and if the writing or any other aspect of the game didn't work, it definitely wasn't because he wanted it that way. The guy has really had a horribly hard time starting off, and its just not easy for everyone to create their ideal game. Not everyone can get the writers they want, and sometimes its either cut corners or don't make the game. I'm just glad the guy is still trying and mostly succeeding to keep doing what he loves, and I admire him for that.

Some good points there. Hopefully, once Autumn Moon expands a little, Bill can make a sequel that does live up to his 'ideal game'. He actually said in a recent interview that he hopes to make a GPoVI sequel. So there's an incentive for us to buy this one; if it sells well then there is a higher chance of a GPoVI 2.

Just to state the bleeding obvious.

I really hope there is a digital edition soon, as importing the game here could be a little expensive.

I love the last paragraph of the review on Adventure Gamers:
The time spent reaching that point [reaching the end of the game], however, was a generally entertaining experience, if a little rough around the edges. Pirates aren’t known for their high culture or good manners, so perhaps it’s fitting that playing Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island is like having dinner with a beautiful companion who has lots of interesting things to say, but tends to stutter at key moments, make some infuriatingly incomprehensible hand gestures at times, stuff every exchange with half-hearted one-liners and PG-rated sex jokes, then wander off before dessert arrives without even saying goodbye. But still, in the end, you had a fun time, and if they ask you out again, you know you’d be there in a heartbeat.

The visuals alone makes me want to buy it, and the premise isn't half bad. Besides, it's been, what? 10 years since I've played an adventure game about pirates?

    Oh, wait, no it hasn't.

    Still, I'd buy it.
