I'd have to say that the worst adventure game I've ever played is a toss up between "Freddie Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist" and "Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine."
The Freddie Pharkas game's voice acting is grating on my eardrums. I couldn't stand to play the game for more than 5 minutes. Also, the Al Emmo game's cutscenes are horribly full of suck. I wouldn't actually play the game past the opening cutscene.
note: You can chastize me if you want, but as neither of these games had demo's available, I downloaded torrented copies of both of them to sample them to see if I'd want to buy them. Let's just say I'm glad I didn't buy them first.
Took a game programming class outisde my normal studies for fun a few years ago, we got to play that game as the example of the worst game ever made. Worst one I played...
I liked playing E.T. as a kid, like the Sword Quest serie. I suspect your teacher was more after some bashing in terms of prominent disasters of the video games history.
Actually i try to avoid really bad games wherever i can, so...
I found Wizardry 6 a really painful experience which i stopped playing after a short amount of time. So much worse than the Ultima, Bard's Tale, Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder games those days.
I generally would call the majority of the war games really bad games as with the increasing realism, the obvious or latent glorification of war, it's a direction i find forbidding. I also don't enjoy playing MMOs or those lately more and more hip getting social games.
The worst game TTG did so far was Sam&Max 202 Moai better Blues.
