Help picking a New TellTale Game

edited March 2010 in General Chat
I am stuck in a rut. I don't know which Games to get. So I need YOU to help me out. I already got SBCG4AP. But I want more of the TellTaley goodness. Which should I get?

The rest of Sam and Max Season 1 (Xbox or Computer)
Tales of Monkey Island
Wallace and Gromit

    Close call, but ToMI. Definately!

I highly recommend either Sam and Max or Tales of Monkey Island.

By the way, have you played some Sam and Max games before (I notice you said the rest of Sam and Max)? If not, there's a free S&M episode. That'll give you an idea of whether or not you'll like the series.

I'm really enjoying Wallace and gromit, but Tales of monkey island is better in my opinion so I guess it depends on what you like better. Incidentally, have you played any of the other monkey island games?

[spelling and grammar nazi]Definitely is spelled with two 'i's and not an 'i' and an 'a'.[/spelling and grammar nazi]

Sorry, it's just a mistake that I made for ages too, so I oculdn't help but correct you.

I suggest you get Tales of Monkey Island regardless of whether you've payed the other games or not.

ToMI and S&M are beyond compare... some of the funniest games out there.

Definitely pick up Tales, It's by far their best work. I would also recommend Sam&Max Season two, but try the free episode from the first series (104:Abe Lincoln Must Die!)

    Alright to make things clear....

I never played a Monkey Island game.
I got Sam and Max episodes UP to Abe Lincoln must die. So all that's left is Bright Side of the Moon and Reality 2.0
Picking the rest of Season could save me some money.
I am planning on going back to work. So I am going to come into some money. THAT is why I am asking you guys.

Excellent, now I know what to ban him for in the Banned Game.
Anyway, if you say you've never played a Monkey Island game before, The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition is coming to the Telltale Store soon, and that is a full length game, and hopefully it will still be 10 bucks like it was on Steam. After that, you could buy ToMI if you wanted to. Or you could finish up the sam and max episodes, then pre-order The Devil's Playhouse.

Tales doesn't strongly reference other Monkey Island games except in a couple, unrelated to story, instances. It lets you get to know the characters fairly quickly for being part of a large continuous overarching game series. You should be able to ease into it with no problem.

I don't think I can get enough money for the rest of Season 1, Season 2, and enough left to Pre Order Devils Playhouse.

And thank you for the info Secret Fawful.

Oh, when I said 'the rest', I just meant Reality 2.0 and Bright Side of the Moon.

Maybe finish up Season one and buy the special edition of SoMI, in preparation for Tales.

There's a difference. He actually thought that a certain word was spelled in a particular way, whereas my errors were just slips of the finger.

    But touche all the same.

...kosher? I don't think you're supposed to eat it.

People are saying "get ToMI" but I would recommend playing all the MI games in order if possible. It helps with certain in-jokes, plus you get a better view of the overall storyline if you start at the beginning. (It's not required, but I would suggest it anyway.)

I got the "Muzzled" epsiode of W&G from a free-episode deal thingy, and it was quite enjoyable, so I would imagine that the rest of Wallace & Gromit is also very good.

umm... I'm not sure how price is calculated when acquiring remaining episodes from a series. That is to say, I don't know if it would cost you the same amount or less if you needed 2 more S&M episodes than it would if you needed 4, but surely you would want the rest of Season 1 before you get Season 2.
