Google maps April Fools?

edited April 2010 in General Chat
I realize the "3D view" was supposed to be an April Fool's joke (that now seems to be a permanent feature), but has anyone else noticed google maps is still acting a little funny? I was looking up some stuff yesterday, and I noticed google misspelled my street and listed it as being in San Jose while the cross street was just fine. Plus a split level in the next town is apparently the Consulate of Cyprus, and there's a label that reads "Securities America" that disappears as I zoom in to view it. Is this still a part of the April Fool's thing, because I haven't found anywhere that mentions these glitches online ... and it's, you know, the 6th.

I doubt they'd change place names as an april fool's joke, it's probably just a glitch.

Could be that the earthquakes in SW U.S. have screwed up the world and now your house is just outside of a consulate? Or maybe it's gone even worse and your state is now in Greece?

Beware the Cypriot Turks: they don't like the Europeans (/ descendants) much ;-)

Nah... was "just" 7,1. A 8,7 just move all Concepción 3 meters!

(Yeah, We just notice we here, in Chile, are pretty much heartless about Earthquakes. I need a Mercalli rate for actually figure out what's going on T_T. I mean, we just recently had another "big" aftershock and we start to bet how strong was!)

I never really trusted google maps. I mean, according to those maps, you could go on a romantic journey with your love when your in Bavaria, starting at N 48.2977, E 10.9899, then proceed to N 47.9117, E 12.8180 and if you still don't have enough, you can cross the border and take her right away to N 48.0680, E 12.8629 ...
