Ok peeps, here's the deal.

I dunno if it's wrong or against the law to post this here, but it's a sincere one time job offer to redesign a website. No harm or spam intended, not trying to promote anything, just trying to get to someone who's able & willing to do it.

Needed: web developer experienced with vBulletin to recreate site

The largest and most popular David Lee Roth Fan/Classic Van Halen fan forum is undgoing a fresh facelift. Our ball crunching new design is ready but needs to be translated from a Photoshop psd file and applied to vBulletin. This is where you come in. Our current site runs on vBulletin; all current forums/data will need to reflow into this new design. Our developer will need to effectively trouble shoot and test the new vBulletin site before it goes live to the masses.

Developer must know frontend coding and how to custom code on the back end. There's also a bit of customization for the forum headers. The forums boxes need to expand with the browser window. You must feel comfortable transferring existing forums into the new vBulletin design. Bottom line: the new forum look has to be as close as possible to the psd design.

As far as navigation goes, there will be a home page with several nav links (some with pulldown menus). All the subsequent pages will have the same nav and subnav links, with the main graphic header being smaller than the Home page. All of these assets have been created by a graphic designer. It is up to you to apply them to vBulletin.

We're on a tight time frame and need a developer who can begin work no later than May 1 and complete the project in a timely manner. This is being funded strictly from the fans of the site, so we have a very tight budget of $600 to work with. If you have questions or want to take a closer look, email us for details.

So if love classic Van Halen, appreciate heavy music in general, are passionate about building vBulletin masterpieces, or just want a unique project to sink your teeth into, this is the gig for you.

it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

Compensation: $600

I know it's not much, but as you've read, it's what we were able to chip in.

So, if anyone 'round here has or knows someone who has the necessary skills & welcomes some extra cash, feel free to reply to the given e-mail address.

If you're not interested, just ignore this.

And just so it won't remain "open" forever, I'll post here when we've found someone & this is "closed".

Cheers!

    Smartass. ;)

In all seriousness though, we do have to thank Wolfie for Eddie V. finally removing his head from his arse, call Dave after more than 20 years, sober up - for a few months - & get back on the road with the Toastmaster General of the Immoral Majority.

If having the kid on stage instead of Sauce Sobolewski was the price to pay, well...

    Cheers!

Ye can't can Mikey though, sauce or no sauce! He shoulda had Wolfie on 2nd guitar or tambourine or something if he needs the kid there to guilt him everytime he reaches for the bottle

Oh, I completely agree. Bassplayer is a vital part of what made Van Halen sound like Van Halen. His vocal harmonies complemented the songs beautifully, providing a perfect backup for Dave's singing.

Trouble is, Eddie V. is not the nicest human being in the world. In fact, he's a right bastard. Trying to edit Mikey out of the covers of "Women & Children First" & "Van Halen", replacing him with Wolf in the latter was... disgusting, to say the least.

Apparently, according to him, "you can't be in two bands at once", so he canned Sobelewski for playing with the Round Rocker.

Bah. We had one last tour with Dave & that's all that matters. Mike pretends he's happy in his new "super" group fronted by Bette Midler with Satriani on the guitar & that other guy in the drums, Eddie V. rammed his head up his arse once again, Al also rammed his head up his brother's arse again & Wolf is getting more poontang than is healthy for a kid his age, for having been on stage with Dave.

All is normal in Van Halen's world.

    Cheers!
