...to a virtual dollhouse that provides only cosmetic benefits for a technological illusion of a man?

The clunkiest user-interface in the world?

The most expensive user-interface in the world?

A medium that takes the limitlessness of online digital services, and constricts them by imitating the limitedness of the physical world?

A digital realm crafted solely to advertise and sell cheap baubles?

A weak facsimile of life that touts individuality by allowing you to purchase garb fashioned from the creative works of others?

As long as idiotic frills that exist purely to create some advertiser's dream world, I'm going to be disparaging of them.
If you don't like PS Home, don't post here. Simple as that.
That is far too difficult and against my moral principles. Besides, who the hell LIKES Playstation Home? Bottom-feeders, the remora of media consumption. Engaging in something? Contributing to something? No, no, that's too much effort. Playstation Home allows you to simply consume, without the painful addition of any sort of substance.

I would be more interested in themes, wallpapers and littleBIGplanet content..

Home is ok but I rarely use it... it loads slow and it just seems like a place for really lonely dudes to harass the few female gamers that made the mistake of making their avatar look female.... As for MI content in Home I will see about getting it Im not convinced just yet.

It's OK. For one thing, I don't watch television. That is to say, I do consume televsion PROGRAMS, but I do so on Hulu, which minimizes advertising. When I move into the city, I plan to hook up a TV tuner to my PC so I can use media center to record shows and skip advertisements altogether, at least for shows available over-the-air.

Besides, that's not the point. Advertising itself isn't a problem. I don't like it, generally, but if it is used to provide a service I enjoy(a blog, a magazine, a game, or a program), then it has value.

Playstation Home is another thing entirely. It's taking the long way around, because the long way is riddled with more ads. It's clunky UI: there is nothing about Playstation Home that can't be replicated more smoothly and efficiently with a conventional menu. The only reason it exists is to sell you things, either cosmetic changes for a glorified cursor or more "real" things through placed ads. The ads aren't providing financial support to content: they ARE the content.

Also, my magazines don't sell products. Maybe video game magazines do, but I don't read gaming magazines.

They have "some" games to play and events... but I do not participate in them.... also waiting in a line for a digital pool table to open up is ridiculous.

...You're going to save it up to buy something useful, like Castle Crashers PSN?

Seriously, Home costumes, just like Microsoft's Lolavatar clothes, are a huge scam.

For the first time in the history of this forum, I actually agree with Rather Dashing. Home is terrible & spending 3-5 bucks on a damn shirt for an avatar that I can't even use outside of Home (Unlike 360 avatars, which might I add that I also don't buy clothes for them) is just plain Highway Robbery.

1.Are these pics of the space or whatever(dont have a PS3 so dont have home) Also is that last pic of who. I hope it is from lechucks revenge because that is the only one I havent played now(finally) and I dont reconize her at all.

EDIT: and on the clothes avatar thing. I really dont like buying crap for them(yes you can see I bought the cotten swab and grill but one day the grill was free and the cotten swab I had nothing else I wanted with my points) I am glad Nintendo(who was the FIRST to do the avatars in this 3-way console war) doesnt force you to buy crap for your miis(besides the games but that is obvious)

They're just random avatars in the outfits. The last person is wearing the Elaine outfit. I'm assuming that's what you're asking, at least.

its odd they are all outfits from SoMI: SE and not MI2

After seeing the Stan costume without its plaid magic, I'd say screw it. Home doesn't install for me anyway, so it's not like I'm missing out.

Found this on youtube... its the Ghost ship

I guess there is new stuff for MI2 as well.

Home seems more lame than I remember.

I don't see the point in bickering whether something is worthy of a purchase or not. Considering everyone is going to have a different definition and opinion in regards to what is worthy of their money, it's kind of pointless.

To some, maybe having fun in a social network application like Home is something they enjoy doing. To someone else that may be one of the most boring ways to kill time. Regardless of how you feel about it, PlayStation Home is obviously a hot commodity for Sony as it has generated millions upon millions of dollars in revenue and works as a marketing structure for Sony.

It's also good to note that Home received more visitors during E3 for the virtual Sony booth than the actual event -- which is impressive in its own right.
