The pimp my devil's playground, er playhouse gaming rig thread!

Yes, I'm back with another spec analysis. This time it's the devil's playhouse! It's really simple: just tell me what specs ur computer is and what setting you play. I'll go first.

OS:Windows 7 Home Premium
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68-UD3R
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k
RAM: 8gb of DDR3 Memory
GFX: Asus GTX560

Running super-smooth at 1600x900 quality 9 in full screen with v-sync off.

Yes, it makes it look cinematic.

Processor: Intel dual core at 2.0 Ghz
    RAM: 3 GB, Kingston
Video card: Nvidia GeForce 8400GS, 256MB
    OS: Vista H. P.

1680x1050 set to level 3 and running like a crippled dog. Jerky graphics, out of sync voices, etc. Going to lower game settings to 1 and see what happens.

ToMI ran great at higher settings with same hardware installed *heavy sigh*
(I was going to max out my 'puter with a heftier GPU card, PSU and more RAM, but never did)

Perhaps it's time I went shopping...

OS WIndows 7 64 bit Ultimate

1080p @ Graphic quality level 9. I notice no difference between level 1 and 9 visually because of the ugly grain filter. Also, I get noticeable frame drops in season 3 for no reason what so ever.

Native resolution, not higher than 6 or the game goes at 1 FPMinute.
Now, your opinion on which settings should I use, maybe?

    4GB RAM (DDR2 @1066 MHz)
    GeForce GTS250 @800/1950/1150
    Windows XP SP2

Playing at 1280x1024, level 9, smooth sailing.

I'm running the game on a Mac Pro from 2008, which has the following specs:

    2x2.8 Quad-Core Xeon
    8 GB Ram
    GeForce 8800GT
    Apple OS X 10.6.3

The game's running very smoothly on level 9.

    2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo T7400
    2GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM
    Intel GMA 950
    Windows XP x64

The game.. sorta runs at 1280x800, with level 1 graphics xD (By sorta, I mean with fairly regular lag). I also randomly get artefacts, dodgy shadows/textures, and all sorts of graphical errors. But at least it runs, I had expected it to crash straight away, I'm just glad to play it.

I might turn the res down and see if that helps.

EDIT: actually, it runs quite well at 960x600, and if you center it on your desktop, it feels a bit like watching a film (so the graininess actually helps..)

1440x900. Graphics option 9. Some FPS drops in the wideshots of the street, but aside from that all runs smoothly.

    2 GB RAM
    NVidia GeForce 8400M G 512MB
    Windows XP.

Shouldn't be a wonder that I can't go more than 3 in quality settings. Framerate suffers even in setting 4. It's the same in ToMI as well :/

    NVidia GeForce 9600M GT 512MB
    Windows 7 Professional x64
    1600x900
    Graphic Quality: 9

Runs great here - finished the game this afternoon. No drops in framerate, no graphical glitches etc. Loving the film grain! Definitely looks better than ToMI.

    Geforce 8600 GT

Can only manage level 6 -- disappointing; the added shadows in level 7+ seems to be computationally expensive. I could max out ToMI.

    2.4Ghz Quad Core
    4GB RAM (DDR2 I think)
    Windows 7 Home Premium x64
    ATI Radeon HD4550
    1360x768
    Graphics Quality: 6

My GPU doesn't like the real-time shadows :(

    Phenom II X4 810, 2.60 GHz
    8GB DDR3 Memory
ATI Radeon HD 4850 (1 GB)
    Windows 7 64 bit
    1440x900 native resolution

I run it at 9 quality, it mostly runs great aside from occasional hiccups in the dramatic camera sweeps, and some slight framerate drops in high detail areas that also have alien apes in view (for instance, the Straight & Narrow area had a slightly lower framerate when Skunkape and Superball were standing out there at the beginning but improved after they had left, this also happened in other outdoor areas with the ape henchmen).

Makes me glad I upgraded my graphics card a few weeks back, I hadn't watched any of the game's trailers and wasn't expecting such a dramatic increase in graphical effects since ToMI. I'd probably have been really disappointed with the integrated HD 4200 that came with my machine.

AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.60 Ghz
    2GB DDR2 RAM
    ATI Radeon 4770
    Vista Home Premium 32 bit
    1600x1200

9 quality, smooth as a cat clawing through melted butter. After playing for an extended time, the cache gets filled up and the game slows down dramatically, but it's nothing that exiting and reloading doesn't fix.

It's slow at 9, a bit faster at 8. In 7 is passable but the cursor lag. 6 and 5 had no problems, but the lip sync mess up once in a while. Mostly at the beginning to be fair. I played the first round in 6. I'm not using a mouse though. My experience says the cursor get a lot better with a mouse instead of the surface thingie of a notebook. Probably I'll could play it in 7 if I have a cursor, because the cursor will not lag that much =P

What would you say its better:

Playing at 1024x768 with a 3 graphic level.
    or
Playing at 800x600 with a 6 graphic level.
    ?

I think the first one, but im still adjusting.

    4GB of RAM
    Toshiba Laptop
    Unknown most other stuff

Running Graphics quality of 2 to 3 (depends if I have stuff in the background)
Resolution 1200 x 750 or something like that.

I want a better graphics card.

    Core 2 Quad 9450

    ATI Radeon 5870

Ran fine at 1280x1024 with graphics quality set to 9 as soon as I changed the anti-aliasing to multi-sampling anti-aliasing in Catalyst Control Center - otherwise the street scene would dip down to 30 FPS...

I'm not sure how good these specs are or not. I'm guessing they're good as I can run TDP at level 9.

Intel Core Duo T2300 1.66 GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 128 MB
    2 GB DDR2 RAM

Ran on 5 at a fairly good rate with super face melting heating issues. (but I'll blame the laptop for that)

Edit: And now that I have a new (and working) hard drive.

    AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.11 GHz
    4 GB DDR2 RAM
    ATI Radeon 4550 512GB

Runs nicely at level 9 quality.

That's the worst argument. Film grain is an artistic decision, are you one to complain if a film has a grain effect? If so then you are the sort of person who got the LotR Blu-ray without grain.

I actually respect TTG for not giving an option to remove the grain, unlike Bioware and Valve, sticking to your guns is an important thing. Hell it's incredibly subtle for grain.

    I'm running it on:
    Phenom II X4 955
    ATI 4870
    2 gig corsair ram

at 1360x768 solid 60FPS, like most things do.

    4GB AM
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Lags at anything above visual level 6.
