Is just me, or does this sound like a good idea?

I've been thinking about an episodic Telltale game based on real people, not as much as a fictional enviroment. Think of a game about the Beatles perhaps, or Nigahiga going about and solving a mystery rather than created charecters.

    I just pictured John Lennon saying "Let's split up gang" followed by Ringo Starr saying "Zoinks!".

    Ooh, ooh, let's have a game about me, and I get to hang on the forums and talk to people, and I make sexual innuendos, most of which half of which some of which are unintended.

    Adventures of Chuck Barris: the Assassin at the Gong. A game by Telltale.

    More seriously, I'd like it if there were some kind of mini-games with the telltale crew as characters. Would be a lot of fun.

    Also, maybe like a historical game. Ancient Greece/Rennaissance England seem the best for comedy.

    And you play as Yare, and have to propose to the right coworker to win the game?

    Oh, I'd love that. Even if it were just a flash game or something. It'd really help Telltale connect with its user base >.> (I'M TALKING IN MARKET SPEAK TO CONVINCE THEM TO DO IT PLS DON'T BLOW MY COVER)

    Wouldn't that just feel like a realfic? Or one of those 50 cent games?

    Promotional games to launch an album or whatever is a pretty cool concept, and it's been done before;

    I like this idea. This could make for a fun time-filler between series (after this season of S&M is over and before the second season of TMI).

    Some people might take issue with their images being used and the negotiations would likely take longer than it would to make the game itself. Plus, the person portrayed would probably want some measure of creative control, which couldn't possibly end well in certain cases.

    Though Mr. T does have a habit of marketing himself out to cereal, comic books, cartoons, WoW...

    I guess someone might eventually decide to do it. I just can't imagine it being taken too seriously.

    Does your husband know what you're doing over here?

    Regarding the topic i tend to agree with Rather Dashing.

    He probably can guess. He married me, he knows what I'm like.
    He knows about the boob topic and the stalking for sure because we've talked about it, for the rest I can't remember what he specifically knows or not.

    Sometimes people change...

    Anyway i wasn't about to criticize you, i just was curious and a little bit kidding.

    Uh? I didn't think you were criticising me. I realised you were curious so I answered.

    I guess people can change, yes. But I've always been like that, as far as I can remember :p.

    You're living in canada if i remember correctly. Which town are you living in?

    Wait... Guybrush isn't a real person?!

    Great, now I have to write my history essay all over again.

    I'm kind of hiding from my parents :p (Long story). If they knew the town they'd be able to find me in a notebook or something and, well probably show up at the doorstep or something.
    Since my brothers are big Monkey Island fans, the chance of them hanging around here is relatively high, and if my constantly sexual behaviour hasn't driven them off yet, they might read this and repeat it to them.

    So, as paranoid as that makes me, I'd rather not share the name of my town here. It's in Western Canada is all you need to know :p

    Okay...

    Hmmm, you could have hidden the secret inside a non typical MI riddle. :O)

    How am I going to design a riddle that can be figured out by total strangers but not the people who've known me for over 20 years (and are much, much smarter than should be legal)?

    This. He's awesome. If not this, telltale, at least ask him to do a guest voice. of a character with ADHD, for sure!

    @avistew
    Valid point but i think this could work out when you're designing a riddle in a way so that it doesn't relate to personal things and moreover set it up in away that it can be easier solved by a stranger who has a different background. According to the difficulty having this background can easly make the difference between solving a riddle and not. Of course this would need some draft information on the person who should solve the riddle as well.

    Or maybe you just write a private message instead. :O)

    If it's directed to a single person and I know things about that person that can't easily be found, then sure.
    For a group of person I don't know much about, I'd need to use common knowledge or popular culture, both of which are easily gogglable.

    But what if it's them in disguise? :p
    Why were you asking, incidentally?
  • edited April 2010
    @avistew
    There is a difference between googling something up and knowing something for a lifetime. Something which could be very hard to solve via google, can be easydone by someone with that specific background. Obivously you have to design it properly but such things are easier invented than solved so i suspect it's doable.

    Well, i'm around here since Sam&Max Season 1 as you somehow can see from the information below the avatar, i guess Lazerschwert for instance could attest that i'm a real german. As for why i'm asking: I just got curious but i'm also fine with west canada as well. I would have guessed more torwards Montreal due to some french relaionship you seem to have. :O)

    Well if not google, there is still the option of them going randomly in a chatroom and saying "hey guys, I have a riddle, wanna play it?"
    Of course, that's pretty sneaky. I doubt they'd care enough. On the other hand, an unsolved riddle could very well drive them crazy.

    I'm actually French, my husband is Canadian (not French Canadian). I know it's confusing, but wait a few years, when we'll be telling people we're French AND Canadian, but not French Canadian (neither of us has the other's citizenship yet).
  • edited April 2010
    Depends on how much effort you invest into personalizing it and as you say how much energy they also put into cracking it.

    That you're french also explains the part when you were talking about studying in france, not that there do not exist exchange students but you know.

    Um, I hate to say this, but a quick Google search provided me with your city of residence as of October 2009... :eek:
