When will it begin shipping?
I pre-ordered Tales of Monkey Island before the season came out. I want to know when the DVD will start shipping. Does anybody know?

Fact is, we're all waiting for Lucasarts to approve the DVD for shipping.
They're taking a hell of a long time though...
Wow that works in almost any instance, doesn't it?
how does that work? I've paid for something, money has been taken and yet it's not even approved yet?
so how much cash are TT making on interest in holding everyone's cash?
what happens if LA takes another 6 months?
It's called 'pre-ordering', just like with Sam & Max season 3. You could also buy the season before the first episode was released.
It helps give Telltale an idea of the amount of interest in the DVD, so they know roughly how many to make.
I don't really know how far along the DVD is, but I think somebody from Telltale said LucasArts had to approve it. So maybe it's nearly done.
I do know a Telltale employee said they're most likely being shipped in May, but that's not very specific.
EDIT: Source!
The episodes are unchanged so LEC can't say much about those.
Actually, in non-preordering stuff you spend money first, then get it back plus some when you sell them. Preordering is usually made to cover the initial cost, in other words they probably would have spent that money already, as it would have gone into getting the DVDs made and stuff.
... And then there is the fact that it's Telltale. They don't charge you for the DVD, only shipping, which goes to the shipping company and not them. So we didn't even give them money they might get interest from.
The money from the Deluxe Editions and others swag might have gone into their production though.
Anyway, LA can certainly take it's time, just look at the 1.0b and "high-quality Movies/Music" patches of KOTOR2. They took an insane amount of time to pass LA...
Also, I hope they ship by mid-May, treasure chest bonuses and everything!
BioWare does claim it will have great stories like KotOR3-10, but I don't see great story and MMO together just yet...
You're not paying $15 a month for the game, you're paying $15 a month to maintain servers capable of supporting hundreds of thousands of players, and you're paying for the cost of constant development of the game.
It's not like the game is the same game from the moment it launches until they decide to take the game down (which in the case of something like EverQuest or WoW may end up being never).
Most, if not all, MMOs come out with free content updates every few months, sometimes even more often, as well as constant bug fixes and balance patches.
For me, I find MMOs to be worth $10-$13 a month (I typically buy multi-month plans when I'm playing one, thus cheaper rates), but your mileage obviously may vary.
It's Bioware, and it's going to be the first MMO with 100% voice acting. That's enough to get me on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
Unless you're Cryptic, in which case you try to charge your paying subscribers additional fees for minor content updates.
When does the next free shipping offer come out? I want Imp shirt, Surfing the Highway and free DVDs.
What? Has there been an update?
I've been waiting since 1998...
It's gonna have conversation and quest choices, too. I know Tabula Rasa had that, but ... well ... they kinda got rid of Lord British without his approval and killed the game right after... So that makes TOR pretty much the only MMO out there that will have 'morality choice' options.
Aye, forgot to mention that, but it is another thing that gets me excited about TOR.
I ordered Tales on March 11th. Really hoping to hear about that soon.
Sam & Max Season Two Case File
Sam & Max Surfin' the Highway (Paperback)
Sam & Max Freelance Police - The Complete Animated Series
Your order shipped on April 29, 2010!
Did they split your order or something?
"We don't know when we will ship it" does not count as an answer.
I wonder if there are some Terry Pratchett fans in here too..
Since there was this issue with a publisher called HillHousePublishers who made people pay 420 bucks in advance for 12 books issued over a period of 2 years and then completely "vanished" after the second book (with the money of course) i'm a bit well...
nervous when there are no status updates. this kinda sucks. (not to say that these have been my two most expensive books ever.. ) :]
Wah? I ordered Surfin' the Highway too but mine hasn't shipped yet.
^ Just the book, then immediate shipping
^^^ Freelance Police serie hold it up, back in stop, so shipped now.
^^ Likely combined it with an item on hold (MI merchandise).
I believe they have said that it will be.
