Heavy Rain cartoons (includes Pirates and Voodoo)

Check these out: http://ca.kotaku.com/5523467/heavy-rains-cartoons-are-better-than-heavy-rain

The Pyrats one really reminds me of Curse of Monkey Island; the shots of the town from a distance especially seem to be a part of that world.

I was so psyched when I saw those in Heavy Rain. I took it as a big shout out to high quality animation at its finest. Shaun certainly liked them...

Oh wow, Gobelins! We were actually shown "Pyrats" and "Cocotte Minute" in one of my animation classes some years back. Man, did we drool over those (especially "Pyrats"). The "Voodoo" one is new to me, but it's definitely in the upper tier of the work I've seen come from that school.

I couldn't be happier Gobelins got this sort of exposure. I say the more of it they can get, the better.

LOL! I've never seen any of these before. My fave is 'pyrates' though... That's funny!

They're a good school. But I was in Penninghen so I'm supposed to consider them my rivals!
(Well, if I had last more that year 0 lol).

You know I was on the fence about getting Heavy Rain but knowing this sort of thing is in there even briefly makes me want that game.

I was very surprised to see Gobelins animations in the game :)
I first saw them on the Annecy Animation Festival 2008, also met some of the makers who all had their portfolio's with them. We got to take a look inside and it was heavenly

I too, was delighted to watch Pyrats on a tiny screen in a very beautiful game. That and Cocotte Minute.

I can only dream of having done something as kickass as Pyrats in my 3rd year film this year. Gobelins folk really have their talent in order.

Next time I play HR I think I'll sit down and watch all of Cocotte before continuing the mission. lol.
