Problems with Sam and Max 106 and 201

Ok so here's my problem. I'm running Windows 7 on Parallels on my Macbook. I played through most of Season 1 on this set up on my old Macbook and it worked fine. It met with a tragic end but I ended up with the newer model Macbook.
I reinstall Parallels and Windows 7 and for some reason now Sam and Max won't work. It installs fine and even gets to the launch screen but it won't load when I click play game. The same thing happens with Episode 201. Can anybody help me out?

    Not terribly experienced with parallels, but did you make sure to update your DirectX in the windows install?

    I installed what I assume is the latest DirectX I can double check that though.
    EDIT: Upon checking I do have the latest DirectX installed.
