My Tales of Monkey Island Birthday cake

edited May 2010 in General Chat
So for my 17th birthday my mom asked me what I wanted on my cake, and of course my response was "Steve Purcell's TMI cover art mom!" :guybrush: Then, my mom actually made the cake! So I thought I'd share it with you. All that was used was homemade frosting, no fondant or anything like that.

My mum tried to make a Tardis sponge cake for my 18th. She put loads of colouring in, but it wasn't changing. When it came out the oven, it was a nice shade of grey. Yum.

Someone once said my mum was awesome, and I said I'd tell her that teh interwebz think she's cool. :)

I am generally a fan of things that show a lot of love behind them though, so I wouldn't be surprised if I've said it before. This made me go "d'aww" and reminded me that I need to call my folks. :p

AWESOME cake man! AWESOME mom man! :D

I just couldn't eat that cake! It's too awesome!

... Yeah, I don't think I could eat it either. (Though I'm still curious as to what kind of cake it is.) That there is a thing of beauty.

Random observation time! So ... we have an (almost) trend of moms being even more awesome than usual. Which happens to initiate shortly before Mother's Day.

    Coincidence?!

Yeah, probably. Moms don't need an excuse to be awesome, after all. <3

Yeah, it's going to be on the 9th this year. It falls on the second Sunday of May in the US.

Other people's moms are awesome. I don't know if I'd ever feel like eating that cake :p

My husband used to have a patient (now dead :() who wasn't allowed to smoke, but loved cigarettes. It was one of the few words he could say. Once my husband asked what kind of cake that patient wanted, and of course he said "cigarette!"
So my husband made a cigarette cake :p Shaped and decorated to look like one. He was very happy.

Anyway, your mom is pretty artistic if she managed to pull this off. I mean, having a picture to go buy is one thing, but...

Really nice cake! Your mom has talent to make artistic cakes. The only question is, what flavor is that cake. I can tell that when u saw that cake your face was worth a million bucks.

If you wanna pay back your mom really good sit her in front of the pc to read what the people though of her cake!
