My Tales of Monkey Island Birthday cake
So for my 17th birthday my mom asked me what I wanted on my cake, and of course my response was "Steve Purcell's TMI cover art mom!" :guybrush: Then, my mom actually made the cake! So I thought I'd share it with you. All that was used was homemade frosting, no fondant or anything like that.

You've said this before somewhere, I remembers!
Someone once said my mum was awesome, and I said I'd tell her that teh interwebz think she's cool.
I am generally a fan of things that show a lot of love behind them though, so I wouldn't be surprised if I've said it before. This made me go "d'aww" and reminded me that I need to call my folks.
They may not look much alike, but thats because he's in disguise! Right?
I just couldn't eat that cake! It's too awesome!
... Yeah, I don't think I could eat it either. (Though I'm still curious as to what kind of cake it is.) That there is a thing of beauty.
Random observation time! So ... we have an (almost) trend of moms being even more awesome than usual. Which happens to initiate shortly before Mother's Day.
Coincidence?!
Yeah! With an icing pen!
I thought mothers day was in march... I guess it's different in the states.
Yeah, it's going to be on the 9th this year. It falls on the second Sunday of May in the US.
My husband used to have a patient (now dead ) who wasn't allowed to smoke, but loved cigarettes. It was one of the few words he could say. Once my husband asked what kind of cake that patient wanted, and of course he said "cigarette!"
So my husband made a cigarette cake Shaped and decorated to look like one. He was very happy.
Anyway, your mom is pretty artistic if she managed to pull this off. I mean, having a picture to go buy is one thing, but...
If you wanna pay back your mom really good sit her in front of the pc to read what the people though of her cake!
