DeathSpank/Humongous possible interlinks

The fortune cookies from DS look very similar to the ones in Spy Fox:

And by the way, Spy Fox involved chickens and a chicken martial art known as Cock a Doodle Fu. Given that Ron was the one behind its development, I find it hard to believe in coincidence. Have you noticed any more links between DS and Humongous games?

Hey it looks just like this fortune cookie I found!

Wait that's how every fortune cookie looks... Is there anything special about the Spy Fox cookie that leads you to believe it's some sort of in-joke that there is one in DeathSpank?

The sky is blue in both those games! Further investigation is required!

Have you seen a fortune cookie before? The way they're drawn in both of those screenshots is rather different from each other, was there something else that made you think they were related?

Don't mock the poor fellow*, I think he has a point. Ron seems to be using the same hint system in DeathSpank as he's used before, and the Chickens might also be an homage. There are pirates in DeathSpank too, nobody would call it outrageous to see that as an homage to Monkey Island. I think it's perfectly plausible.

    * I'm bringing it back

Ah the fortune cookie was the hint system? I see.

You guys obviously didn't look closely enough. It's difficult to see in the DeathSpank screenshot, but here's an enlarged version:

I don't believe it! It's like Ron's laughing at us!

The fortune cookie wasn't a hint system in Spy Fox. The note inside it contains the access code to the Spy HQ, one of the very first puzzles in the game. After that the item serves no use.

Oh right, I must have remembered wrong. I played it a long time ago. I do remember the part, though, where Spy Fox turns out to be a giant mecha robot thing and goes crazy on the citizens of New York with his laser eyes and fire-breathing giant Parrot sidekick... some things you just don't forget.

:D OK, I probably got a bit over the top. With all those game-related speculations and theories, it's hard not to start seeing things.

*gasp!* That fortune cookie referenced Spy Fox! But ... it also misspelled SpyFox ... *gasperation!* It's obviously a clue! A clue that leads to ... Cincinnati Ohio, home of "The Center for Grammar Research and Development". Cincinnati, also the home of the Cincinnati Bengals whose team colors match the San Francisco Giants, which means Gilbert is moving back to the Bay Area! It all makes sense now!

Could it be possible that Ron is just fond of fortune cookies in general. If I designed/created multiple games, then I'm sure that they would both include the things that I like.

I would rather say he's fond of chickens. SOMI had rubber-chicken-with-a-pulley-in-the-middle, Spy Fox had chicken knuckles and Cock a Doodle Do, and DeathSpank... you know ;)

...and might I add that you are all horrible, horrible people for mocking poor Cyrus...

Actually, it was kind of hilarious.

Oddly enough, that's exactly what the Fortune Cookie said in Spy Fox

If the discussion continues in the same spirit, it may eventually result in someone making a joke game or Flash animation about DeathSpank and Spy Fox ;)

All the more incentive to keep the discussion going!

A new DS trailer. Nothing Spy Fox-ish this time ;)

I'd just like to point out that missing the space in "SpyFox" isn't a spelling error >.>

I think her point was that adding a space is misspelling it.

Deathspank reminds me of the old, highly underrated LucasArts PSX game Herc's Adventure
