Demo verification issue (S&M Series 3)

edited May 2010 in Game Support
Hi, Im having trouble downloading the demo for Sam & Max.
I started out on Internet Explorer and it brought up an error message saying that it was from an unknown publisher with no other option but to close.
I tried installing the publishers certificate to no avail.

Someone recommended I switch to Firefox which I have now done but the furthest I can get for the installer to verify in its little grey box but when it finishes its gives me the NSIS Error below.

Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include
incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the
installer's author to obtain a new copy.

More information at:

I've tried every suggestion on there but, again, no luck! I even tried to download it from another computer and got the same results... which is weird!

Any suggestions?
(I hope this is something simple and easily fixed, even if it down make me look stupid!)

Did you get the error message on both computers?

Have you tried a clean boot?

Booting clean in Windows Vista / 7:
    1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
    2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
    3. Uncheck Load Startup Items
    4. Select the Services tab
    5. Check Hide all Microsoft services
    6. Click Disable all
    7. Click on OK
    8. Click Restart.
    9. After reboot, run the game to see if it works.

After performing the necessary steps, restore your system by doing the following:

    1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
    2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
    3. Click Ok
    4. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer
