Telltale should make Ashes to Ashes games

edited May 2010 in General Chat
Since the series ended last night, telltale should make Ashes to Ashes point and click adventure games based on the TV series! After all, that's what Sam and Max was based from, a cartoon, which was based from a comic that the director got the idea from his little brother who never finished his comics.
Back on track, what do you think?

What's Ashes to Ashes? I have a feeling this game wouldn't be a big seller with Us, Aus, Can... pretty much everyone out of Europe. And Sam & Max: The Telltale Games have pretty much nothing to do with the cartoon, as that was severely toned down to suit children. It was BROUGHT ABOUT by the comics, and a game was made from that in 1993 (the cartoon was on in 1997).

Ashes to Ashes was a BBC drama, a sequel to Life on Mars. It focuses on a police detective having been shot in the head, and then wakes up to find herself in 1981. It expertly mixes a standard crime drama with the bizarre metaphysics of human psychology and the mind in a coma, as well as concepts of the afterlife. As of the last episode,
it turns out the 1970s/80s world of both series is a kind of purgatory for police officers, who have died but haven't properly come to terms with it and therefore cannot move on yet.

Life on Mars ran an American remake, but I imagine that was probably rather crap in comparison to the original.

Bingo, I was shocked by the ending,
Because I never thought they'd all be dead, Keetes is the devil, Hell is the bottom floor of a police station and heaven is a pub!
Also that 1993 game was Hit the Road, right?

Certainly the last part is something only the British can come up with!

My biggest disappointment with Ashes to Ashes was that unlike Life on Mars, it didn't end with the titular song. It used Bowie's "Heroes" instead... Incidently, music alone would take such a project out of TTG's budget range, given the huge reliance the series has on licensed 70s and 80s music.

    And the Irish too!
I'm gonna miss Ashes to Ashes, that's why I thought this would be great so that Ashes to Ashes never really ends, and even people outside Britan can enjoy it too!
