CMI on ScummVM

Hey. I added Curse to Scumm VM and I played it to the end of part 2. After it ended, the game quit out. What do I do to get CMI to continue playing in SCUMM VM after beating the second part of the game?

Have you added both Disks to your harddrive? Since it loads Disk 2 there...

I have, and it gave me a message saying something about a debugger and to type the word exit to return to the game. I type exit, and the game crashes.

Do you have an english version?

Non-english cut the song that's there, maybe that causes issues (just guessing here).

Have you got all the files from disc 2 in the same folder as disc 1? You'll want to merge the Resource folders together if you haven't already.

You can't run CMI on a DS.

when you say "at the end of part 2," where EXACTLY do you mean? right after you sail the Sea Cucumber out of Danjer Cove? That is where the game normally switches discs from 1 to 2.

If so, (and I'm going to assume that that is where it is) you should recopy the required files from disc 2.

According to the ScummVM wiki, you need the following files from Disc 2.

Recopy them to your CMI game folder ANYWAY even if you're not sure if that's what is causing the problem. If your computer asks if you want to replace files, say "yes" or "copy and replace"

Also, please confirm exactly what happens in the game (story-wise) immediately before it crashes.

You need to merge both the disc 1 and disc 2 resource folder dont you?

I didn't read this thread but if I were you I'd back up my saves and just play in ScumVm off the CDS.

    I doubt he has CD's, he's probably using .iso's.

Nothing wrong with that though. I spent years trying to find a CD version of CMI so I can give it to my cousin, but you just can't buy it anywhere. It's pretty old.

You could just redownload the isos off a different site (emuparadise has old scumm games) and transfer your saves.

Just look on eBay there are a lot of copies.

Play the game off the CD's? Why on earth would he need to do that?

I have iso's of the game (made from my own legally bought cd's,) which I used when copying the files and the game runs fine for me under both ScummVM and the updated mixnmojo installer (though I use ScummVM.)

He hasn't said yet where the game crashes. I bet it's because he hasn't actually copied all the files from the Resource folder or something, but we'll see.

MLROCKRULES, recopy all the needed game files again from your media (cd or iso, it doesn't matter.) Since you say "at the end of part 2" I really do bet that you don't have all the required files from disc 2 copied over. (read my previous post for specific instructions.)

I have just hit exactly the same problem. Just before disc 2 it comes up with that message window. I type exit and it crashes. But I didnt merge the resource folders >.<

Hope I dont have to start disc one again!
