ToMI 5 Help

So I've finally reached Chapter 5 of ToMI, but when I try to combine the tip jar and the tiny parrots, the game won't let me. I thought I must be doing something wrong, but everywhere I check it just says to combine them. Is this a glitch?

Btw, I'm playing on a mac.

Edit: Nevermind, it's working now. I still have no idea what the problem was though.

    If I had to guess what your problem was (not is), is that the problem was that game have a tendency to glitch when they have been in memory too long. Getting out of the games has a tendency to help a lot.
