I see. It sounds interesting. I do have a question though:
Sounds like either the first or the second "targeted" should be something else. What did you mean to say?
Wow this is what I get for watching stand up and trying to form a separate thought at the same time. It was supposed to be targeted, fired, and destroyed. Actually just scrolling over the enemy made a noise. And if you targeted several enemies when you fired each firing made a different noise and the enemies being destroyed had different noises. It really was a great game that got totally over looked until they re-released it on the Xbox Live Arcade. It's a shame that unique games like this have that problem. Okami was ignored for it's entire development and then got attention once it came out and was critically acclaimed when it was re-released for the Wii. So this is what E3 is about to me. Trying to sift through the piles of mediocrity and finding a gem.
To me, it sounds like a gimmick. A pointless and non-profitable gimmick such as Robbie the Robot or the Power Glove for NES.
btw, I see your impending Lucas' Power Glove ad from The Wizard movie ("I love the Power Glove. It's so bad") and raise you the AVGN's review of the Power Glove.
Yeah it seems to be the same thing to me too. Also because I can, the Nostalgia Critic's review of The Wizard. Only because the movie was brought up.
I personally would've gone all the way back to the PS2 and said EyeToy. And it was stupid then and it's stupid now.
I can gripe over the minor differences tomorrow but I said PS Eye because it's a little more advanced than the EyeToy and Kinect is only a little better than PS Eye. But yeah it was stupid then and it's stupid now. It's not going to work anywhere near as good as they claim either.
I have to admit, though, thanks to that Penny Arcade strip, I kind of want to try Eye of Judgment. Not enough to buy the massive amount of crap that goes with it, but there's a mild interest.

Yeah, if I buy a PS Eye it'll be for PS Move and I don't know if I'm willing to buy it yet. Seems interesting but once again I have other things to spend that money on. Like a keytar/keyboard for Rock Band 3. Or my kid that's on the way. Or other video games/manga/comics/anime/cosplay/movies to spend it on. Or that kid. I feel like that's the correct answer but I'm not quite sure
Nintendo releases analog joystick control and the Rumble-Pak with Star Fox 64, Sony comes out with the DualShock, a completely revamped version of their original controller to add both of these features.
You're forgetting to mention that Dualshock also had TWO clickable analog sticks (oh and the N64 one wasn't a true analog stick, it was just a digital pad with a stick jammed on top). It's not like they just took a blueprint for the N64 controller and quick pumped one out, they created what is essentially the most popular controller design of our time. Sure, Nintendo had an "analog" stick, but Sony perfected the analog stick.
Nintendo announces motion control in their controllers and Sony immediately cans the banana-shaped controllers and creates the sixAxis controller so they can implement what appears (I don't own a PS3) to be very lackluster tilt control.
I much prefer the limited motion control of the Sixaxis/Dualshock 3 to Wii's. Why? Because games aren't forced to use it, if they use it, it's almost universally optional, if you don't like the way it handles, you just turn it off and use traditional controls. A large quantity of Wii games approach motion control with an "all or nothing" perspective, and the entire game just feels like an attempt to use the gimmicks of the controller rather than being a good game, and then throwing motion control into it. There are few games on Wii that couldn't be played with traditional style controls, many developers just apparently like to shove control schemes down our throats. (PS: Telltale this doesn't include you, your use of the Wii controller is perfect )

I do not think I could ever play Child of Eden. I would spend the entire time dancing (badly) to the music instead of shooting things.
I see this kind of thing and wish someone would build arcades around these concepts instead of developing them for home gaming. You could have a smallish room set up for each game with a giant screen dominating one end and people could rent them by the half hour. Have tables and sofas at one end for the people relaxing and munching between their turns, it'd be wonderful.

They already do that here. Some people here buy a bunch of Consoles, put them in a place, and, for play, you have to rent them for certain time.
Im more interested in the ability to use motion capture at home for 3D than kinect itself but kinect and the sex toys that PS3 are selling, shows me that I'd better sell my Wii with its crappy graphics today while its still worth selling

graphics dont make the game.
Gameplay, characters, and story make the game.
People still play mario bros not for the graphics, but the gameplay.

This strip, not this one.

Yeah. 120 button guitar controller...kid... Tough call, man.

Yeah I know it's going to be difficult. I think my best bet is getting him into video games this way I can claim I'm buying the stuff for him
I beg you to find a friendly venture capitalist and make this a reality.
This has been the way of things for generations. See also: train sets, Scalextric, remote-control planes/boats/helicopters.
