ToMI gamebreaking glitch PS3!

Hello interwebs,
I have an issue. I'm playing through tales of monkey island on the ps3 (finally!!! :) ). I just did the three trials of starting pirate news stories and then I came off after it autosaved. I went back and loaded it to carry on and Guybrush is... Invisible. You can control him on the current screen but can't move onto another. I reloaded and restarted the ps3 to no avail.

Am i gonna have to start again? God I hope not. But I can't find any way of bringing guybrush back?

    I *swear* I posted on this earlier. Maybe it was right as it was getting moved so it didn't take... At any rate, open your inventory and try opening and closing your map.
