F4 Hint Key in Tales of Monkey Island for Mac

edited July 2010 in Game Support
Hey guys,

I've been playing through ToMI on my Macbook Pro, and I noticed that in the first chapter I couldn't use the 'show all clickable things on screen' hotkey that everybody seemed to be talking about.

Didn't really bother me until I got stuck for hours on Chapter 2 because I couldn't see the bucket I was supposed to pick up.

Is the F4 hotkey mapped to a different key on the Mac version of ToMI, or did they take that functionality out? I've been hitting F4/Fn+F4/Ctrl+F4... nothing seems to work.

I've never used it either, but at least for Wallace & Gromit's similar feature you had to be using a graphics level setting of 7 or above for it to show up - maybe that's also the problem here?

I've got it ramped up to level 9. No dice.

Unfortunately, that feature didn't make it into monkey. It's in Season 3 and Monkey PSN though, and will probably continue to be a feature in the future.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I've started to play Sam & Max Season 3 on Mac, and I still can't work out how to bring this up.

Or did Will mean it's only in Season 3 on PSN as well?

Apparently I was misinformed! For SM3, it's only on platforms where you are playing with a control pad.

This control-method-specific stuff made me sad.

Like object-highlighting being gamepad only. :(
