Sam & Max mouse issue

I got Sam & Max: Penal Zone on my mac through steam and for a while it played alright, if a bit laggy at times, but now whenever I try to play it the mouse is stuck in the top left corner, so I can't get past the main menu.

    Have you tried this workaround?
