The Next TTG Game

edited July 2010 in General Chat
We all know Telltale loves to include their customers/fans. We also know they have a lot of games in the work. So I am taking it upon us to come up with the next idea for a game! We have lots of time to do this, because they still are making Sam'n'Max, Puzzle Agent, Jurrasic Park, Back to the Future, and (hopefully) Tales of Monkey Island 2. So! Ideas? (Sorry if I put this in the wrong spot. Feel free to move it Telltale Mods.)

Current Ideas:
The History of the World (humorous style, not real. [Example; Age of Dinosaurs- play as Nikasaur])
Bernard's Watch
Aquila
Grim Fandango
Salad Fingers (Just... Please... No...)
Spaced
Day of the Tentacle
Calvin & Hobbes
Futurama
Indiana Jones
Tales from the Crypt
Full Throttle
Diskworld
Weebl & Bob
Star Trek
Owly
Broken Sword
Totally Original
And I'm too lazy to post the rest, so read 'em Telltale!

(Do it Telltale. :D)

How about "The History of the World According to Weebl & Bob"? Actually, a Weebl-related TTG game would be kinda neat....sorry, I'm hijacking.

I was recently thinking of TellTale making games based on these old TV shows I loved, Bernard's Watch and Aquila, it would be awesome. :)

EDIT: What do you mean by the Current Team part of your post TomPravets? This is a suggestions thread for next TT Game, right?

    Grim Fandango. 'Nuff said.

I want to see an adventure game based on Salad Fingers.

    There, I said it.

    I'd say "Spaced"

    I'd say "Spaced"

Wow, I had never even thought of that possibility.

Unfortunately, I don't think it'd work, and the story of Spaced is complete in of itself and you'd have a hard time writing anything new.

What they SHOULD do, is bring in Simon Pegg as a writer and voice actor. He is one of the funniest human beings on or off this planet :)

    My current top 3 franchises for Telltale to take on would be;
    - Day of the Tentacle
    - Calvin & Hobbes
    - Futurama

Probably in that order. As much as I'd truly love to see their take on the Futurama world, it'd be such a hard job to make the writing and voices stand up against the shows, so it's bottom of the list.

A new Indiana Jones adventure game. A "real" one again, not some action-adventure-crap like the last games from LucasArts.

I mean, it's from Universal too, right? :D
  • edited June 2010
Full Throttle and maybe Diskworld, I know it's long shots but I would still like to see it happen. :)

    :D Yay! This thread idea wasn't a flop! :D

I'd like a Weebl and Bob adventure game, truth be told. Not like Prawn to be Wild. That was an On The Moon adventure game

I had this thought before, but I thought that it was an impossible dream. But now that Telltale is getting bigger licensed properties, I'm going to throw it out there.

I would very much like to see a point-and-click adventure based on the original series of Star Trek and based on the gameplay of the old Star Trek 25th anniversary and Judgment Rites games. They could even do the long-lost secret of Vulcan Fury if they could get their hands on the materials. Voice acting would be a definite challenge, admittedly, because the original actors that are still around would probably be very expensive, but unfortunately, some of them are no longer with us.

I'd love another Star Trek adventure game. It's been far too long since A Final Unity, never mind Judgement Rites. As for voice casting, well there's a whole new cast that they could use, or there's always the possibility of setting it in the TNG era.

Owly. It's this super cute comic book for kids by Andy Runton about this little owl and his best friend, a worm. It gets that "works for children but also works for adults" tone right, it it's really fun but sad, and could be a pretty awesome adventure game. How could it not, with story titles like "A Time to Be Brave"?

Telltale, it'd be too awesome if you made it into a worthy game.

Here's a page. Here's a page from a story that always makes me [url=http://www.topshelfcomix.com/catalog/owly-vol-4-a-time-to-be-brave/545[/url], about the time Owly and Wormy go to find Wormy's family and...I can't go on.

    I, too am against hotlinking.

    Also, Spaced.

I would like to see an original IP, though. The only original game they've done so far is, correct me if I'm wrong, Poker.

There, uploaded to imageshack for the hotlinked image, and to the original page for the comic page.

You know what would be the ultimate Telltale Video Game Experience?

    Telltale Awesome.

Featuring Egoraptor as probably every character featured in the game.

I see the title of this thread and my dyslexia kicks in, I think people are requesting a Star Trek: The Next Generation game.

    Which would be awesome.

    Broken Sword please.
Somebody's gotta give it a worthy game after the failure of Broken Sword 4, and who better than Telltale?

As much as I love the Tell Tale games so far. I would love to see what they could do with an original IP. Something entirely fresh from these guys could be really cool.

I'll go out of the way to actually make one of the first serious suggestions of using a band as the next TTG Video Game.

    Gorillaz.

I mean, think about it, their latest promotional website basically was one big adventure game. Why not an entire Gorillaz adventure game? Perhaps with a little bit of action elements.

    A band game? Interesting..?

The Middleman. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced it would be a perfect fit for Telltale's style.

Wonderfalls might work too, and would definitely be suited to the episodic format.

Danger Mouse and it's great spin-off, Count Duckula ...
I recently watched(re-watched) them and they just put me in a time machine and sent me back when I was 3~4 when I first watched the Series, of course I didn't remember the whole toon, only a remarkable scenes and some repetitive ones [which I figured they were running gags when I became a few years older :) ]

also, an addams family game would be great too :)

Grim Fandango for me. But, probably not a new game, since the ending was pretty definite. So a remake?

The Middleman its perfect for the adventure games of TTG. Just watch these trailers and you'll know :)

I wouldn't mind a game based on the British television series "the worst week of my life". I know that seems like a really bad idea, but I think playing as Howard getting out of bad situations would be hilarious.

I love The Middleman. I can't believe they cancelled the series. How great would a telltale Middleman game be!? It would be perfect!! Reunite the cast to voice it and take art inspiration from the comic. Please telltale look at this as an option. Purleaze!!!!

Oooh. You are absolutely and unquestionably right.

But the question is: would pull in a large enough audience?

I'm still up for the idea of Telltale taking on some licenses from the old Sierra franchises. I think they could do some good work with them, even though most come from a LucasArtsy background to some degree. (It's not like Activision is doing anything with them... right?)

    But that's just me.

As much as I'd love a new Full Throttle game, I don't think it'd be possible with Roy Conrad having unfortunately passed away. Full Throttle just wouldn't be the same without Ben. :(

That being said, I can think of a couple of franchises I'd love to see done:

    Maniac Mansion (of course)
Something set in the Psychonauts universe
    Brutal Legend
A point and click adventure game about working at Tell Tale Games (you play as an Intern, there would of course be Cameos from other franchises.)
Some sort of game made with Tim Schafer Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman, possibly backed by Steve Purcell. (</pipedream>)
A Venture Brothers OR Aqua Teen Hunger Force game.
A Penny-Arcade game (a point and click adventure title rather than their semi-rpg series.)
A Marvel comics game starring Deadpool.

Okay, forget the Gorillaz adventure game. All fun and all, but I think it's too grim and too indie-like to work as a game Telltale would make.

    Instead, why not go with...

    the-librarian-quest-for-the-spear.jpg

There are a total of three The Librarian films, and it really has a potential of becoming a hit adventure game.

    The Penguins of Madagascar.

    madagascar-penguins.jpg

You know it. It makes sense. They live to solve problems. They're a well-oiled puzzle-solving machine. I would love to see this...

Seconded, wow, could it really happen?
I still don't now why our beloved 3headed monkey decided to do a surgery and stop living with each other, may be it wasn't their decision, maybe a mad doctor did it and made each head to forget all memories from the good ol days?

I think they should make a game based off a character who is dramatically obsessed with Internet social pages and whatnot (i.e Facebook) and the goal is to get this person truely out into the real world.

But the game wouldn't be like you do everything in one timeline, but you have to go out and find out yourself what you need to do, but the good part is that once it's done the option to do it is not available.
    (much like this)

But it would be either logic puzzles (but not like a seperate screen like in Puzzle Agent) or inventory puzzles.

A Marvel comics game starring Deadpool.

It wouldn't work. Deadpool himself would be constantly complaining about the lack of hack and slash in the game
