All of Telltale's games for only $49.99!
It's basically the same price as if I'd buy only the complete Sam & Max collection.

My problem is that I wouldn't have access to the games from my Telltale account.
Is there any way to buy from Steam and get the games here?

No.
Yeah, but im a very cheap person, I cant rememer the last game I got that wasnt on offer
At least I got to order the DVD's (BTW Its been two weeks and I havent got them yet and the tracking number doesnt work)
I'm sure there is a way to play non-steam games in the steam client, if thats what you are talking about. I have no idea how though.
steam disadvantages:
-when you play you HAVE to install steam and use it
-you need internet connection to log to steam (after that you can login offline if you dont have internet or log on in another comuputer)
-you cant get the physicall dvd for shipping price, or other goodies
-not all revenue is for telltale (i dont know the % )
You cant play non steam games on steam.
You can put a short cut on to your Games page, but its completely pointless
Right now I'm taking massive advantage of Steams sale.

other things that change:
- No TTG-launcher that causes problems for some players
- steam tells you how long it was for you to complete the game.
Things that are no changes:
- you still need an internet connection to log into your TTG-Account so it can check if you own the game if you have it on this site
You can use the ingame-chat if you do that so it is not pointless.
19,99€ here. That's just mean pricing.
Even though I already own Tales of Monkey Island.
It's still the same price as the complete Sam & Max which I wanted to buy (which is no longer advertised on the frontpage) - plus, I wanted to get myself Strong Bad too.
I suggest that before buying a game on sale, you should think if you actually wanted or you're just buying it because it's on sale.
As I said, I wanted to buy the entire Sam & Max and the Strong Bad series,
So in this case, this deal fits me perfectly, because I would have bought them anyway.
Now, the real question is... when will I play them?
The installer has been causing a lot of problems for WINE on Linux, but replacing it with Steam only makes it ten times worse. Trouble is you normally want different tweaks for different games, which is very annoying to achieve with Steam games.
Once. Steam needs you to verify over and over and over again, tough shit if you go offline just as Steam wants you to reactivate. Also, their 25% premium on all europeans pisses me off bigtime. Some games that work fine with the DVD edition refuse to run under Windows 7, and the support answers were bullshit. Also you can't ever sell a game or split your collection off to someone or anything.
Steam is great right until you run into trouble and realize all your games are trapped in this service. I used it for a little while, but those days are past. I already bought pretty much everything in the pack so it doesn't appeal to me, but I'd much rather rack up $50 in the telltale store to do my moral duty and get it any other way than through Steam. The only way Steam looks good is compared to over-anal always-on DRM bullshit and great deals on the first heroin shot.
That's compulsive spending for you. Lots of people have that problem, namely buying something/more of something because it's on sale/cheap, thinking "I'll use it at some point" and in the end not using it and feeling like you've been had.
That's the point of sales, or rather, one point of sales. Sales result in profit because of two types of people they attract: people who would like to buy it anyways but couldn't without the sale, and people who wouldn't have bought it, but it's on sale so they do.
In the latter group, some people do use the product and are happy with it, some don't and feel stupid. I think we've all done that at some point.
(Mind you, there is a group that makes the company lose money: it's the people who wanted to buy the product and were ready and willing to pay full price. But they're a small group considering most of these would have bought it already).
Anyways, I hope you find a way to control it! I wish I had pointers for you, mine is to only buy things I already wanted to buy. If it's a long-lasting sale, I use one of my other rules, the "30 days" rule (if I want to buy something, I wait for 30 days and see if I still want it. Doesn't apply to necessities of course).
Then there is the "save for it first" that's really useful, but I can't imagine many people buying games on credit, sales or not...
Maybe you can try setting a rule for yourself? You make a list of so many games you're actually expecting, and you can only buy those on the list, and you need to finish a game you already own before you free a "slot" on the list? I dunno, you're the person who knows what would work for you, and someone else's "system" is likely to be completely useless.
Mmh, sorry if I'm sounding all annoying and patronizing, come to think of it maybe you were just trying to get it off your chest and not asking for advice. In which case, sorry! It's just that I've seen so many people with that problem (all in various domains, from food to electronics to movies to kitchen gadgets to video games) so I really wish I could help a bit.
More on topic, I dislike Steam because I don't like having to run a program rather than play games directly. Also, I buy Telltale games directly from Telltale as it gets you the DVD which has nice bonuses in most cases.
not if you are doing it right.
Kenwoods, no one told you to buy games because they're cheap.
I suggest that before buying a game on sale, you should think if you actually wanted or you're just buying it because it's on sale.
Are you actually serious with this reply?!
Thanks for the advice! My problem is they are games that i'd wanted at some point, but had decided i didn't need at full price. Then along comes a sale, and i think "screw my budget, this'll keep me going for a few months, meaning i won't have to buy anymore for a while" but then something else, crops up, and i buy and use that instead of whats on sale. To be fair, i did spend less than £20 on games at christmas, i just bought Civilisation 4 (which i have used, alot!), Indianna Jones & the fate of atlantis (completed now), IJ:Last crusade (not even touched), Loom (not touched), Dig (played for a couple of hours), Kings Quest Collection (haven't touched any oth the 6/7 in there),Space Quest collection (again, none touched). Actually, i never really wanted the Quest collections, but i'm sure i'll touch them eventually.
But i've decide the only game i'll buy is Team Fortress 2 if that comes on sale (£2 at most, i own it on PS3, but want the maps etc). Although i did buy Deus ex (i bought an Xbox for that, and could never find the darn game instore!)
I was making fun of you. As evidenced by the smiley. I thought it was funny how you basically repeated the same thing he said. That you don't know when you'll have time to play the games...I think that was his whole point as well.

I would say to those that haven't to pick these up. The first two games are amazing, and the third is reasonably good.
I've also just realised it's 1p cheaper to buy the two games seperately(£1.35 each,£2.71 for both). Go figure.
nah it will not. It took ages until ToMI weas in it and Season 3 was just added with this deal.
BTW, Machinarium and Samorost 2 are half-off and I highly recommend them, and these aren't point-and-click but Beyond Good & Evil and Aquaria are worth grabbing if you haven't played those.
I assume that'll be because they released Broken Sword 1 as a special edition on iPhone, Wii and DS and they'd prefer to drive sales to that.
