Ni no Kuni-new Studio Ghibli/Level-5 RPG

edited July 2010 in General Chat
Anyone else excited about the recently announced PS3 version of Ni no Kuni? Ghibli and computer games feel like a perfect match and I cant wait to explore some of the beautiful open worlds we get a glimpse of in the trailer. For me this is the best thing thats happened to console gaming for a while and I'm sure im not the only one who's imagined controlling one of their animations some day!

I was excited before I saw it was Miyazaki doing Final Fantasy.

I was excited the moment I heard about it last year, back when it was just going to be on DS. And then I saw the pictures of the boxed set prototype, with the book and all, and was even more excited.

    I definitely looks great.

I was interested until it got to the generic-looking RPG battling. :|

I love the music in that trailer! It looks childish as hell, but the impressive graphics, nice music, and my general love for a atmospheric jrpg like this will probably make me buy this game.

I've been interested ever since they announced a PS3 version. Not a big handheld gamer, so I would never play the DS version if I ever bought it. Iit does look really good.

yeah i wasnt too bothered when they announced the DS version, allthough it has impressive cutscenes for a DS. I read an article about the ps3 version saying that the cutscene graphics will be indistinguishable from the in-game graphics. it does look beautiful but as someone said the battle system does look a bit generic but at the end of the day I dont mind a pokemon rip-just cant wait to see some of miyazaki's wild character creations ( i assume he's involved, not sure). That thing with the lantern hanging from the cock on its face is hilarious

I'm happy they're making a PS3 version. I probably wouldn't play on the DS either, since I think RPGs are too long for that format. Infinite Space, for example, is a great game and all, but I doubt I'll ever finish it since I'd rather play RPGs when I can sit down comfortably in front of my screen.

I'm very excited about this one. I'm a huge Miyazaki fan and I love the art style a lot.

It's good they're bringing it to the PlayStation 3 and despite the battle system looking pretty standard, it won't matter if the subject matter is engaging and worth checking out.

I like the art and the look of the world but man does turn based battles put me to sleep... seriously I have fallen asleep while playing Final Fantasy games.
