Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Anyone else here incredibly excited for this game?

It's a first person survival horror/adventure game made by Frictional Games, the guys who made the Penumbra series.

They have demos up for Penumbra if you want to know what their games are like. I think anyone who is a fan of horror and adventure games definitely needs to check out these games. :D

I've been looking forward to this since I beat Penumbra. It was the star of the Humble Indy Bundle, to be sure. Star enough to make me get the other two, anyway.

Penumbra was unfinishable for me. Playable but VERY hard at some point...and it became annoying rather than scary.

But this game shows promise. I love how they implemented the idea of the character gasping whenever he hears something scary. That is unique. Brilliant!

Which one did you quit on? I never had that problem with any of them.

Penumbra , I've played that and enjoyed it. But I played some sort of beta or demo or free version. At the time it was something really different, a Doom 3 type of game without any guns. What I liked about it is that there were several solutions to solve one puzzle.

From what I saw and gathered from my experience. Not all the puzzles were diverse but some of them had several solutions.

That was likely the Penumbra tech demo, which is pretty buggy and totally different as you said. :)

Does the 2nd work? I like to keep my schedule nice and tight, you see.

Sorry, there's a schedule conflict from the 2nd through most of the 5th. It's called Dragon*Con, you see. I won't be available for destruction until the end of the 5th.

Yeah, and I don't want to worry about having to hide evidence while I'm trying to enjoy myself. You're so inconsiderate.

I apologize for the double post, but the demo came out today, woo!

You can try it out on Steam or at the official website!

(I promise I don't work for Frictional, I just love their games a lot. :D)

EDIT: Oops. Should have read the preceding post. SHODANFreechman, you have my sincerest apologies. Still, my post stays due to my excitement. This somewhat salvaged my day.
