I'm a major sucker for the first two games, I don't like spending money but i'm very tempted.

I've never played these games (shame on me, right?). I might give it a go.

I've never played these games (shame on me, right?). I might give it a go.

In my opinion they're two of the greatest cartoon adventure games ever made and won't ever be topped. Both 1 and 2 are amazing and as replayable as any monkey island game, if not better but the 3rd and 4th game make the franchise take a step down from where it was.

I hold these two games as high and as magnificent as the clashes of lightning, as for the genre, they're as brilliant as striking.

They completely struck my world me and lit up my inner child, leaving me fully charged and "I" to admire the awesome power behind it all.

Hmm. If I had known a PC version was coming, I might not have bought the iPod Touch version. Oh well

Can confirm it's out, because it's already on The Pirate Bay.

Posting something like that makes me a little bit sad.

I forget, does Director's Cut mean more or less? 'Cause I'm kinda fine either way.

More. With parts with Nico as Playable character.
IMHO, the worst thing in this Director's Cut is that
there isn't anymore the "Paris in autumn" initial speech

Is it just me, or is Nico's voice in the original games really, really annoying? Sorry, no offense to French people, but did they have to make her accent so thick?

For some reason this looks like it would have a "where in the world is Carmen Sandiego" kind of graphics. Is that about right? Also, I've never played Gabriel Knight either, but I heard that Tim Curry voiced someone, is that true?

IIRC, Tim Curry voiced Gabriel Knight in the first and third games. In the second game, being FMV, I think Gabriel Knight was voiced by the FMV actor himself.
And I think Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) voiced Detective Mosely in both first and third game too.

How about a very good successor, i don't dare asking for something new, after the milking time for all devices will be over?

Death scenes are gone, the italian voices are compressed to hell, and there are a lot of bugs.

Well it's a pretty good game anyway.

I've got the Wii version. Found that the old and new sections weren't quite as seamless as the developers intended - I noticed it a fair bit in the early George sections, with the newly recorded lines contrasting against the old ones reused from the original game. Also, the puzzles involving the Wiimote sucked. Period.

But the new plot elements were interesting, and they got rid of that horrific 'goat' puzzle, so YMMV.

Also, Javi-Wan Kenobi: You recall correctly. Tim Curry is Gabriel Knight, and I will fight anyone who disagrees. And you're right about Mark Hamill too, at least in the first game. Not sure about the third.
