Router Reset Question

edited September 2010 in General Chat
I've rather cleverly forgotten the password to my wireless router. Now I know if I reset it I can set it back to the default password and get back in so I can muck about with my ports and all that. My problem is that because i've been hopping from ISP to ISP I have no idea of my login details.

When we got the router it took a minute on first setup and fetched the details from our ISP, so my question is, if I reset it again will it fetch those details or will it be totally blank as if I bought it from the store and i'll have to spend ages on a helpline doing validation questions and the like to sort it out?

Any help/ideas much appreciated

If you got the router from your ISP then it may have come preloaded with your login details. In that case the information will be preserved even if you reset the configuration data. If you bought the router at a store, then it'll be totally blanked.

Doesn't your ISP have some kind of webpage you can log into and get help with this kind of thing?

Cheers man, they do have an online portal and all that, but i've never actually used it and because all the login details were programmed into the router i've never actually typed them in thus can't remember them. Coupled with my terrible filekeeping i've no idea of my login details or password.

I'm not much good i'm afraid
