Monkey Island is slooooooow

I just bought and installed Tales of Monkey Island. I started Episode 1 but it is very slow. The audio is out of sync and it takes a long time to complete a task. I closed all my browsers and im programs before I even started the game so nothing else was running, aside from what is absolutely necessary.

I have Windows 7. I meet all the system requirements so I don't understand why this is happening. This is the first game that I've had a problem with.

    Let's take a look at your specs. Please post a dxdiag log.

    dxdiag
    Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
    Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.

    Now click on the button that says "save all information".
    It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

    Then zip the file and attach it to a reply in this Thread.
