I meant the overall puzzles in each episode. I'll go ahead and reword that in the first post.

    The Good:
Funniest episode: Both The Penal Zone and the City That Dares Not Sleep
Episode with the best story: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls (for the finale)
Episode with the best music: They Stole Max's Brain (The noir act had the best music)
Episode with the best puzzles: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls
Most shocking episode: The City That Dares Not Sleep
Best new location: The Statue of Liberty
    Best new character: Sal
Best use of an old character: Sam & Max. Okay, seriously, I gotta say I really liked Doctor Momma Bosco in this season.
Best overall episode: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls (honestly, the season should have ended roughly around here. Big finale, end of the psychic toys arc, the Toybox was destroyed, and in the end the fifth episode was essentially just due to Max falling on a shrimp-like Elder God fetus. It seemed kind of weak and while 305 has great lines, is very emotionally powerful and I DO like it, I think they could have segued into it better.)

    And the Bad:
Least funny episode: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls (it was just the one with the fewest jokes, I find.)
Worst story in an episode: N/A
Episode with the worst puzzles: They Stole Max's Brain (the alternate universe was just plain terrible to play through. The atmosphere was just GONE because I could barely hear the background music)
Episode that best failed to meet expectations: They Stole Max's Brain
    Worst new character: Sammun-Mak
Worst use of an old character: Girl Stinky
Worst overall episode: They Stole Max's Brain

It was actually stated that transformation of Max is caused partially, if not completely, by the temporal psychic power up.

If that was completely caused by the psychic powers, then they were very misleading and STILL could have segued into it better.

I actually fully agree with this, so much that in my mind I've nicknamed Episodes 1 - 4 the "Devil's Toybox Arc" and then just have Episode 5 on it's own. Episode 1 to 4 felt much tighter because it all takes place in the course of one day and night cycle. and I have to agree about the finale, as nice and emotional Episode 5 was, Episode 4 was just pure epic and had the gameplay to back it up, unlike Episode 5 where the last thing we do is play a record then select a Vent, compared to the showdown we had in Episode 4 having to trick Charlie Ho Tep into destroying the Toybox, it was just totally awesome and it might actually be my fave Sam & Max episode.

Funniest episode - Either The Penal Zone or The City That Dares Not Sleep. I think they were the only ones I laughed quite loudly at. I just did laugh at the other ones, I did not burst out laughing, and had to wait a minute to contain myself.
Episode with the best story - I would say, Beyond The Alley Of The Dolls
Episode with the best music - The Tomb Of Sammun-Mak (love those train themes.)
Episode with the best puzzles - The Tomb Of Sammun-Mak
Most shocking episode - Beyond The Alley Of The Dolls (Charlie Ho-Tep reveal, Max turning into a monster. I was not expecting any of that to happen.)
Best new location - Max's Interiors (some pretty good music there.)
Best new character - Papierwaite (Norrington also, they work great together.)
Best use of an old character - Hmm. Don't know. Let me think about it.
Best overall episode - Either The Tomb Of Sammun-Mak, Beyond The Alley Of The Dolls or The City That Dares Not Sleep.

Least funny episode - Again, let me think about it.
Worst story in an episode - The Penal Zone. It was the first episode, so it was just starting us off, before going into a big huge story.
Episode with the worst puzzles - Sadly, The City That Dares Not Sleep. I missed using the Pyshic Powers...
Episode that best failed to meet expectations - They Stole Max's Brain! That trailer got me excited, however, it was not as good as I expected.
Worst new character - The German Tourist. Or Frankie.
Worst use of an old character - Mr Featherly, or Abe Lincoln. Or both.
Worst overall episode - Not the most horrible thing ever, but The Stole Max's Brain! Wasn't my favourite.

    Worst Overall - 303
It started out great, but the second half seems too much like filler.
    Worst New Character - Tourist.
Worst Old Character - Jurgen in 305. Seems to me like the Director was supposed to be there. Her portrait was shown in the intro, and she appears during the credits.
    Best New Character - Yog-Soggoth, Charlie Ho-Tep.
    Best Old Character - Sybil.

    Nope.

    1) He gathered all the Toys in 303 using technology

    2) He didn't do what Max did when we saw him touch the Eyes of Yog-Soggoth for the first time

    3) He could easily have bullied Gordon into telling him what Sam & Max were going to do
