tales of monkey island sound issues

edited October 2010 in Game Support
Hi I just picked up all of it off steam(they were having a sale) but I have a problem: I get no sound in fullscreen mode. I had this issue with FFXI online when I would run it in high res mode(no black bars) but I never managed to fix it(just ran it in lowres mode). My system is a custom using an Asus motherboard so don't tell me to call the manufacturer..

AMD Phenom 2 X4 965
4 gigs of Ram
Radeon HD 4200 (onboard)
Realtek/ATI HDMI audio (onboard)
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Things I did:
Reinstalled Sound driver
Reinstalled Video Driver
Reinstalled Directx 9.0c
Updated BIOS

I'm running everything through HDMI to my HDTV to use it as a monitor. The black bars appear around the normal desktop too.(despite my efforts to get rid of them)

Do you get Audio if you connect Speakers instead of using HDMI for it?

    What Manufacturer/Model is your TV?

A dxdiag log might be helpful too.

    dxdiag
Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.

Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

Then zip the file and attach it to a reply in this Thread.

I tried turning off HDMI sound and using headphones and it worked so I went and bought a set of cheap speakers...everything is fine now ^^
