Everything by Cold Chisel. An old, Australia 70's/80's rock band whose music is simply not known outside of Australia.

Got this cute Danish song on my head.
I don't really care that much what they sing about, but I really like the tune.
And that is the main reason why you get a song on your head.

I have to warn you though, some of you might find this song too soft.
But even thought I like Metal (Head Banger Music), I also do like it soft sometimes, so this song might not be in everyone's taste.

But maybe there is someone like me, you never know. :)

But here is the song: Jesus and Josefine.

But if you do care what they sing about, I took the liberty take the text and use Google translator to translate it for you all. :)

    (Female)
On her pillow are thoughts in line,
Founded in soil as ornamental flowers.
Shoots and sprouts, and meanders around,
    She understands nothing.

    (Male)
Hours feel like days and weeks, thousands of years.
Come to look back to a world of yesterday.

    (Both)
Jesus and Josefine homeless heart ache.
Jesus get Josephine to believe in miracles when she falters.

    (Female)
Shepherds and angels and three wise men
    Fate, she will be there.
Meetings of a king, a savior, a guy.
    Christmas will be an adventure.

    (Male)
Hours feel like days and weeks, thousands of years.
Come to look back to a world of yesterday.

    (Both)
Jesus and Josefine homeless heart ache.
Jesus get Josephine to believe in miracles
Jesus and Josefine faithless time machine.
    tempter's concubine,
she will need miracles when she falters.

    (Both)
    Two souls flying still,
    In the dark night.
    They hear the night's trill,
    From the black cat.

    (Background Singers)
(Jesus and Josefine homeless heart ache)

    (Both)
Jesus and Josefine homeless heart ache.
Jesus get Josephine to believe miracles (believe in love)
Jesus and Josefine faithless time machine.
    tempter's concubine,
She'll need miracles (need love) when she falters.

I know music's subjective and all, but that's fucking terrible. here, enjoy this superior song in a smiliar vein. It is by a rubbish band, but the song itself's a gem

Pretty much all of Sugarcult's discography. I don't know if they're just under the radar or what, but nobody I've ever talked to has heard of them.

Why do people keep bringing up stuff I can't abide. I'm starting to look like a royal asshole here!

Here, try some Millencolin on for size :)

Y'know, I've always loved Seal's "Kiss From A Rose"... the video was a stunning tribute to a comic book legend. Joel Schumacher is a god among men.

I appreciate difference of musical tastes and all that, but I'll stick with Sugarcult. I really don't care for the lead's voice in Millencolin.

    You're just hating on the Swede's :p

I relistened to Bouncing off the Walls just to see if maybe my hate had been misplaced over the years. I still found it repugnant i'm afraid. Funnily enough the singers voice is my major gripe, along with the bubblegum pop production.

I was angry at Brett Gurewitz for about half a year for signing these guys :p

Haha, I like the song too, it's just a shame that I'll never not think of Batnipples when I hear it.

I'm part Swede. I listen to Amon Amrath and Evergrey. Your argument is invalid. ;)

    You're self-loathing obviously :p

Anyways, it was hardly an argument, just a silly aside
  • edited October 2010
The self-loathing comes from the Italian genes, man, nothing else. ;)

I know you weren't being serious, I was just giving you a bad time. XD

Most people should know this one, but idk. Night and Day. This version sung by Ella Fitzgerald. She has the best voice ever.

This song is even so obscure, not even my fellow Dutch people know about this song.

Relax - No Sunrise (ft. Boris Titulaer a.k.a. Bo-Rush)

Hell, it's obscure enough that I can't even find the official video clip of that song.

She really does and this is probably one of my favorite songs she's done ( I think I like her version of 'My funny valentine' a touch more though) .

Well, technically they are not songs, and I keep posting about them all the time, but I will mention the Bone Soundtrack again. I guess that, indeed, not many people hear them. Well, this should be changed! Play more Bone! Hear the soundtracks!
Some favourites of mine are Main Titles, Fair Games, The Great Cow Race, Smiley's Theme, Ted's Theme, and many more.

Well, I think I'll mention the Eagles - "Frail Grasp on the Big Picture". Now, this song was off their 2007 album - 'Long Road Out of Eden' and it wasn't released as a single, so it's not going to gain anywhere near the amount of exposure or recognition as, say, "Hotel California". But the song is so damn good, and I think that I'd even rate it as being just as good as HC. It's just such a good song (FGotBP), both musically and lyrically, with the lyrics being some of my favourite lyrics of all time. They just give a quick summary of current Western society, touching upon and criticizing many of the main problems with our current social state. And when such great lyrics are accompanied by the brilliant music and guitar work, it just results in an excellent song.

It's just too bad that it will never be as widely appreciated as songs like HC and "Life in the Fast Lane", which is a real shame, as I consider it to be right up there with those tracks.
