LOL this is an actual game title.

But it was renamed to be Enslaved, Odyssey to the West

I just found out about it.

I will be buying this game or getting it for Christmas :p I don't play too many video games anymore but who could resist?

Can some one please tell me what a DLC entails? That means I have to download this game? I don't really like that. What happens in say 20 years when I go back to play my old PS3 and I have to download it? Could that even work?

It's downloadable content for the retail game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. This is just a skin for one of the characters. Obviously you need to have the actual game in order to download and use the skin.

Anyone try this game yet? Aside from that just being a download it looks decent.

I tried it. I gobble up any Journey to the West-inspired media, it's something of a curse.

    ...

It definitely, um, takes its liberties.

I didn't enjoy it. It's pretty shallow and the badly-told story and awkward cinematics don't help.

But for some one with low standards it's awesome, right?

LOL, you'd be surprised. You can always go lower. :p I enjoy the Masters of The Universe movie and White Noise, Rocky IV, Indiana Jones IV, Frogs, Blair Witch, TPM, ATC, TMNT III, Rocky V, Planet of the Apes 2-5

But...there are movies that are even worse I enjoy, and then movies even worse yet again that I won't sit through.

I even played Simon The Sorcerer 3D made it almost to the end of the game but stop playing for some odd reason. I might even go back to finish it...

Have you read Dragon of the Lost Sea by Lawrence Yep? It's mildly inspired, and I haven't read it in years, but I remember the book being fairly entertaining.

Is it sad that out of that list there are only two-three movies I don't like?

It's doodo's list of crap movies. What do you think?

I couldn't disagree more. I knew nothing about this game until I tried the demo on xbox live and bought it on impulse. I think the story and cinematics are the main selling points, actually. Andy Serkis plays the title character and also directed the cinematics, and it's some of the best mocap I've ever seen in a game. So good, in fact, that many of the emotional beats are played without dialogue, relying on subtle facial expression. This allows the story to be underplayed rather then weighed down with clunky exposition. The plot is relatively simple, but the characters are complex and the ending wonderfully ambigious. Oh and by the way, Enslaved was written by novelist and screenwriter Alex Garland, of The Beach and 28 Days Later fame.

Anyone wanting to play it should buy it from Amazon today. It's the Gold Box deal for the day, $25. With free shipping, I'd say that's about the price this is worth.
