almost gaming.,.. HELP

i have downloaded this game almost a year ago and went through this... sony viao laptop just cant run it apparently... now im running a dell desktop from 05' and its better but i cannot see certain things from the game.. the voodoo recipe from the first episode namely and other things.. any ideas... its also choppy.. this is ridiculous that monkey island has these new computer standards... please give me options.. i hate buying a game and even after a year i still havent played it

    Can I take a look at your DXDiag?

    Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
    Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.

    Now click on the button that says "save all information". It will prompt you to save a file. Since I cannot receive attachments, I'll need you to cut and paste the contents into this message for me.

    The problem is similar to the one you have with your sony laptop.

    Both of your PCs have integrated Intel graphics chips, which are neither powerful, nor well suited for 3D games in general.

    The FAQ Lists Intel Graphics as unlikely to work with these games:
    How can I tell if my video card will work with your games?
    Our games require 3D video cards that are new enough to run under DirectX 9. If you have a Geforce or Radeon card purchased within the last five years, our games will probably work! (To find out what video card you have, right-click the desktop and select Properties, then go to the Settings tab. Your video card should be listed here under "Display".)

    If you have integrated graphics or an older 3D card, our games might not work for you. A good way to find out is to download the demo version of the game you're interested in buying. If the demo runs okay for you, the game probably will too.

    (Special note for people with Intel graphics: If your video is included on this list, you probably won't be able to run our games. Sorry about that.)

    I forgot to answer you in the other thread. You might have a chance with your Sony Notebook, if you get the latest Intel drivers running.
    I remember a couple of people getting it to work on the Intel 965, but i only could find this reference.
    I would give them another try, by uninstalling your current graphics drivers first and following these instructions again:

    Manual installation Instructions

    The ones on the Sony Website i linked too are probably too old to work. They also list this one for your system, but according to the name it should be for a different chip. It doesn't hurt to try it though as a last resort.

    The best solution for you to play the game would be a PC with a dedicated ATI or Nvidia card, which is not too old.

    Your desktop system (Dell™ Dimension™ 3000) sadly doesn't have an AGP or PCIe port for a better graphics card. You could try a PCI card with the most recent graphics chip you can find though, to maybe get it running at low graphics levels. That's the only cheap solution that comes to my mind.

    Other options are getting a new PC with a somewhat decent graphics card, or requesting a refund.
