Brutal Legend players unite!

edited December 2010 in General Chat
Hi I was wondering if anyone here played Brutal Legend still and on what console? I play on PS3 my PSN's Elvenmonk if you want to play an online match. I just started playing online and haven't really found an Army to stick with.

Also, I'm not sure if many of you play this game, or know of this bug, but the PS3 version of Brutal Legend has stuck at loading screen bug. Where, when you get to the end of the game it'll load forever. I was reading around Double Fine's forums and they said they had a patch to fix it (and the PS3's match making), but EA wont release it to Sony. ( This would be the forum post) I was wondering if some of you could help out PS3 users by e-mail EA saying you have this problem and reffering them to this link at the DoubleFine forums in hopes to get the patch released. As no game should be unplayable/unfinnishable.

Indeed I do, but on the 360.

I started a second playthrough a while back (screw 100%ing that game in free mode... they hid things way too well)... I really should finish that.

With me I was 99% done. I needed to find one song and I was done. Then BAM! Loading screen bug. The Eye attatchment you get for the Duce is amazing at finding things.

I used to, but my 360 red ringed way past its warranty, and I don't wanna buy a new one, so I stopped playing console games.

I really liked the story and world of BL... but I did not like the big battles... they got really boring fast.

Oh man, that's terrible. I had the same problem in Arkham Asylum... TWICE. One Joker Teeth gets stuck under a statue, and it makes 100% impossible.

I liked Brütal Legend... until the RTS parts really started to ruin it.

Yeah, I can see that. I mostly just sent troops somewhere and I just battled ignoring the rest of the battle.

Wow, that's pretty bad. I've just started Arkham Asylum to be honest, and I hope that doesn't happen.

How much is the out of Warranty to fix it?

Yeah, I felt they should've made it on PC and more indepth RTS part due to this. But, I mostly ignored the RTS part other then for making fans and destorying the stage. I went into battle ignoring the rest.

Brutal Legend was a fantastic game, and probably my favorite game of 2009, but I didn't like the multiplayer. I was fine with the Strategy sections in the singleplayer, but I for whatever reason didn't enjoy it outside of that.

My one and only complaint with this game, as with most Tim Schafer games:

    TOO. DAMN. SHORT.

The thing is, Tim Schafer games always suck you into these fantastic worlds, but just as you are settling in, the credits roll! After finishing Brutal Legend, I felt that I was missing one-third of the game! Now, I know it's not Tim Schafer's fault, or anyone's, but I always hated ending Tim Schafer games...

Full Throttle was the worst case. Psychonauts was the most decent one.

My Psychonauts data deleted it's self and too lazy to replay it to be honest. I can agree Brutal Legend was too short.

Also, side question, has anyone submitted a form to EA? I know it may not sound like much, but letting the problem be more well known and that the devs have a fix ready would be great.

You can contact Tim Schafer directly on Twitter at @TimOfLegend. He reads replies, because he responded to one of mine.

Well he and the admins at Double Fine said EA wont do anything untill there's enough complaints. They've a patch ready for Brutal Legend to go live to fix all the PS3 issues.

....they have a patch ready and won't release it? That's pathetic.

It costs money to put patches up there and each download costs a publisher cash. If a game's dead/financial failure there's basically no support after that. That's why they're/we're trying to get as many people as possible to report the problem to EA. They made a patch off EA's money on their own and it's not gone live.

That's what I could gather from the BL forums, at least. And it makes sense as even free DLC costs publishers money.

I think it's awesome. But you really have to LOVE and know a lot about heavy metal to get all the jokes and subtle, and sometimes obscure, references.

One of my favorite moments was when the Guardian of Metal says "You're not worthy... yet!"

Which was a cool thing about the game. As someone who basically only listened to Heavy Metal growing up I felt more attatched to the game.
