Poker night, worse hands winning
About 6 times now, a single pair has beaten a two pair or even straight.
The most recent was I had a two pair, and strongbad had one pair. He won.

Would this happen when someone folds as well?
Tycho just won and he folded.
uhh... thats not how poker works, unless i and everyone i know ever learned it incorrectly.
I'm with Twitch4you, I've never heard of poker working that way, even at casinos, and it's very annoying. I just lost a round where The Heavy and myself were all-in, along with Max who still had some money left over. They each had King High while I had a flush. The game originally said that I won, and shortly after said Max won. So not only was the tournament lost, Heavy's minigun went to Max instead of me. So as far as I'm concerned, I was robbed of a TF2 item, Steam achievement, and lost the tournament.
Needless to say I'm quite the opposite of happy and hope this is either fixed or explained. Considering it seems like many people didn't understand the main and side pot thing, I would prefer if it was fixed.
Anyway I got a screenshot. The Heavy's hand was very similar to Max's.

Simply re-download and reinstall the game, and you should see a difference.
Side pots are a part of poker and not a botched rule (I became a Texas hold'em fan in 2006 and have seen hundreds of episodes of Poker After Dark); when three (or more) player are in a pot and one of them is all in for less money than is bet by the others, there will be a side pot between the others who will be playing for any additional money on top of the all-in money and covering bets (example: Strong Bad is all in for $2000; the Heavy raised for $4000 and got called by Tycho; the most that Strong Bad could win if he has the best hand of the three is $6000 + any blind and bet that you and Max made before he went all in. Anything above those $6000 would go to whoever has the best hand between the Heavy and Tycho).
The one thing you are right about in this post is that if you were the one that eliminated the Heavy (if you had more money than him when you went all-in), you should have won the item. If he was eliminated by Max (if the Heavy was all-in for more money than you were and only Max's bet covered his), there is no reason why you should get the item as Max would in fact be the one who eliminated him.
And that is an actual poker rule.
Additionally, you shouldn't have lost, but since the game had said that you'd won before saying that Max had won, you probably did receive the money from the main pot and were eliminated on a later hand (unless you quit after seeing Max win the Heavy's minigun).
I have now played over 30 tournaments (including more than 10 before the game was patched) and I have yet to see a pot won by someone who shouldn't have.
