Holiday TV Specials

edited December 2010 in General Chat
So, Christmas is here in just about 12 days. What are your favorite Christmas/Holiday TV specials?

I enjoyed last year's The Office special, "Secret Santa".
This year, I loved the Community animated special. It felt perfect and reminded me why I love Christmas. I'd highly recommend watching it.

How about you?

    2 things come to mind.

The first one is, even though it's not exactly for any holiday, just the season, is Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish, It marks the only time Animaniacs is ever on current TV.

Second is The Most Horrible X-Mas Ever(Invader ZIM). The show is just awesome, and the christmas special/finale is a high point of the series.

Also, this year's Simpsons Christmas episode was pretty good.

Justice League "Comfort and Joy", not my favorite episode from the series, but definitely in the top ten. The interaction between Flash and the Ultra-Humanite is the best part. "You hit me first!"

Rugrats had 3 (or rather 4) specials for this season. Their Chanukah special, Kwanzaa special, and 2 Christmas special (One of the was with Dill and was certainly for the Spirit of Giving.

This is why I love Rugrats.

Bow down. Bow down before the power of Santa or be crushed. Be crushed BYYYYY His jolly boots of doom.

Mine would be the whose line special. We had a newsflash of a santa raid. And an interview with santa announcing he is retiring, moving to mexico, and turning all of his animal friends into carpets.

This! And I like how it's really funny and snarky about what it's parodying, but at the same time tells a heartwarming tale about Christmas without being too cheesy.

    Blackadder Christmas Carol!

Favorite Christmas specials: A Pinky and the Brain Christmas, Bottom: Holy, The Goodies: Earthanasia, Father Ted: A Christmassy Ted (although it goes on longer than it should). Also favorite xmas movie would be The Muppets Christmas Carol.
But I have to say there a few good specials this year. The Doctor Who special looks better than previous years which I find to be never as good as the episodes in series. In Australia the Extras special is being shown for the first time and I wish I lived in the UK where Never Mind The Buzzcocks are having a Dr Who special.

The Office episode started off with everyone happy and content.
    And then Holly came back
, and everything fell apart. It's an awesome episode, but it was so hard to watch. I feel especially sorry for
    Jim
    at the end.

    Community is awesome as usual, and it probably had the funniest line in the evening;
"Wow. Somewhere out there Tim Burton just got a boner"
. The Britta-bot scene was my favorite, as well as the Lost DVD.

The Charlie Brown Christmas special is the immediate one that comes to mind. And the first Simpsons Christmas special. Those are two of my earliest memories of TV. The Charlie Brown one in particular is an absolute classic. :D
