System Error - ToMI DVD

When I first insert the disc for Tales of Monkey Island, This message comes up with the title "autorun.exe - System Error".

"The program can't start because d3dx9_41.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

The thing is, I don't have anything from Telltale installed currently on my computer. What can I do?

    It seems like it's missing DirectX 9. Do you have it installed?
    I remember having a similar problem with Dreamfall and windows vista some years ago. It seems that DirectX 10 isn't fully compatible with 9, so you'll have to find some download from Microsoft that adds DX9 support.
    If you're not on vista or 7, simply installing direct x 9 should work.

    Running the DirectX updater should help.
