I must look up "Krampus" sometime... first I've ever heard of it. XD

Another brilliant holiday piece from the main man! :'D

That's because Sam's supposed to be more Saint Nicholas than Santa here.

"Frohe Weihnachten", German for Merry Christmas.

This thing made me look up what the heck Krampus is and holy hellbeast is that thing creepy.

I'll stick with just the Coca-Cola drinking saint, thank you very much.

Thanks to my randomly finding out crap on the internet I reconised it was the Krampus straight away and loved it XD
Also, for those curious enough here is where I first heard of the beasty. http://familiarfaces.blip.tv/file/4501077/

Had I not searched what Krampus was on Wikipedia I wouldn't have gotten how awesome this Christmas card really is XD

I wonder what the horns are supposed to be from or are they freeform.

Krampus! Suits Max perfectly, I'd say.

It's always awesome to get new drawings from Mr Purcell himself. :)

Leave it to Mr. Purcell to find the culturally obscure pieces of history and comically incorporate them into his masterful drawings. It's so intriguing I can't help but to tip my hat to him.
    Awesome job!

I can't believe something as awesome as the Krampus didn't make the cut in the modern Santa Claus traditions. Instead we get Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and little pointed ear freaks making toys that nowadays look like they all came from Walmart.

This just makes me want Santa Claus and Krampus as a good cop/bad cop pair, getting children to confess to being naughty.
