X-Files Series?

edited February 2012 in General Chat
So I was thinking about other series that would make for good Telltale series and X-Files would be great. I know Telltale games thus far have been light hearted and family friendly, but I really think Telltale could do justice to the Show, what do other people think? X Files is mature sometimes but it also gets silly too, there is alot to work with there I think.

For those who dont know what I am talking about, The X Files was a insanely popular TV Series back in the 1990s.

Opinions?

X-Files! I loved the series! X-Files + TTG I would buy it without hesitation.

It would be nice timing too, considering the fact they never followed up on the cliffhanger at the end of the series (the "colonization" that will supposedly take place in the year 2012).

I really liked the show, but unfortunatley it went downhill around Season 7 (in my opinion, although I really liked Agent Doggett). I think a game series would work best if it was set in earlier seasons and probably if it stayed away from the mythology. I never had the feeling the authors themselves had a clue what was going on, and I don't think adding more to this would make it any better (especially after the events of the last two seasons).

And yes, I would probably buy it.

I'd buy it, but I still think they should do Tales from the Crypt first. :p

I'd love to see an X-Files adventure series. But I don't think it would really work with point and click mechanics. I think it would better with a game style similar to Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, with atmospheric exploration and intense chase scenes. But that’s my opinion.

    I fully agree

Most X-Files episodes was mostly about the investigation, more then the action sequences, alot of the time they got their guns out, they never even had to use them really even, so i think point and click would work for them, especially if they stayed away from mythology. Mythology episodes seemed more gun toting then non mythos.

That would be awesome. I would buy that in an instant.

Really you could think of it as a sam and max season but a lot darker and more dry humor instead of sam and max humor..

The X-files is one of the greatest show ever made and needs to be revived. A video game is a good idea and I will definitely buy it!

I hope someday there will be a new X-Files Game. Telltale Games would be perfect for the job.

One of my nicknames is still "Mulder", so I would totally buy the game. Twice!

But there are still four years between the second movie (2008) and "the end" in 2012. Enough time to tell some monster of the week stories. ;)

There was great X-Files FMV game back in the day (mid 90s), but I would also love to see the franchise resurrected, and Telltale could do a great job.

Here's some footage from the old game:

That Hank Moody sure looks fresh-faced. ;)

    I still have that game....

I found that game in a Value Village some time ago. Full box and everything included. Still have yet to play it. Heard it was fantastic, though.

Don't have that one, but I have the PS2 one...as well as the movies and series of course. Even have Millennium, which was awesome the first season and ended up sort of mediocre in the third.

...So... you bet I'm for another game.

I remember I was so proud when I played X-Files The Game. I was 10-11 years old and I figured out the password for Craig Willmore's computer. I barely knew english at that time. =)
