Tales of Monkey Island cursor problem

Having loaded the game I am having trouble getting Guybrush to move where I want him to. He’s just sorted the Narwhal captain out but will not move along the decking, but will only move back towards the ship. I can move him back to the doctor’s house, but he won’t go back down the steps. I’m using a magic mouse on my imac. Please help.

    Seemed to. Many thanks. Presumably I'll have to do that each time I open the game?

    Unfortunately, I believe you're right (I just tried Launch of the Screaming Narwhal, did the command-f/command-enter thingy, came back to the game, walked around a little, saved, exited the game, restarted the game, loaded my saved game and... the problem occured again!).
