I know it was discussed when it was announced this past summer, but now that release details are out, who pre-ordered? What are you hoping for?
I know I'd like to see the original, untouched films on these releases - even though it unlikely. Even if they aren't brought up to 1080p or cleaned up, it still would be a nice feature. Even with that - I'm happy with the special editions. I really don't mind them. Oh, but I do hope they fix the lightsaber color problems that make them look really, really off. It's not just a color issue if they don't fix that, it's a bit of a continuity issue - amongst the original films, but also with how lightsabers look in the prequels. My pre-order is in for the complete set, 9 discs with all 6 movies, plus over 30 hours of bonus footage.
This is the reason I am finally going to get a blu-ray player. This give me 9 months to get a player and surround sound.

What are your thoughts?

I'll be buying it... I am a slave to Star Wars.

I liked the original special editions, but not a lot of the changes they made in the original DVD releases. I think the collection should have all three versions of each movie :)

Since George has made it emphatically clear that the theatrical cut won't be on this run of discs, I have no interest whatsoever in owning the set. My laserdisc-rip DVDs will continue to be superior to any future release until a theatrical cut is included.

Is he going to go all the way and replace every character with Jar Jar this time around?

I heard Wicket gets into the throne room with Luke at the end of ROTJ by crawling through a large air duct and boarding a ship...shortly after he steals a spider bike...

It's rumored that Wicket will double team Vader with Luke Skywalker in the final conflict, using SFX...

I love everyone's lack of faith in Lucas that he couldn't edit the prequels to be any better.

Well he did. We get only the bluescreen version this time. No digital backgrounds only plain blue or green. This will be so much fun!

I have the original theatrical version of the OT on DVD.

Whenever I watch the SE's, I always cringe in many places and want to watch the original version instead. RoTS is the most tolerable prequel movie, but the prequels as a whole are just plain suck really. George Lucas is a terrible storyteller anymore, and I fear that he's not going to do any real good for the Star Wars license no matter what he does, because his mind is too fixated on CGI and crap to write/implement a proper story.

Truth be told, the only versions I give any creedance to besides the original version of the OT is the Adywan fan edits since he actually knows what he's doing.
