Sam & Max Episode 4 - Not Recognizing Activation

I paid for the full season back in December and I just downloaded Episode 4. When I first tried to play it after installing, a little window came up that said "Retrieving keys." It disappeared and then nothing happened.

I tried opening the game again but then it said "Play the demo or buy for $8.95 etc...." I've tried clicking "I've already purchased" but it says "Missing one or more tags."

    Hi,

This is an error that occurs from time to time (it indicates that something went wrong with the activation system during download or installation), and we're currently working with Digital River to find out why. Uninstalling and downloading again will probably resolve this problem. If it doesn't, please click Activation Support and follow the instructions to get an activation key from us.

Also, do you think you could answer a couple of questions for us so we can try to get to the bottom of this?

    1) Where did you download the game from?

    2) What were the steps you took between when you downloaded and when you got this error?

    3) Did this problem happen with any other episodes? When did you download the other episodes?

    4) What security software do you have installed?

    5) Do you know of any software that's installed that might remove the /Temp or /tmp directory on your computer?

    6) What operating system are you using?

    7) Is this your first attempt to activate the game, or did it activate normally before and then revert to demo status?

    8) Is this the same computer you downloaded onto, or did you move the setup file to another computer?

    9) How do you connect to the internet?

If you don't want to post this info in the forum you can send it to me in a PM. Thanks!

Nine questions is a bit more than a couple. ;)

    1) Downloaded it right from my e-mail that I got today.

    2) I downloaded, installed, chose to launch right after installation, then the keys message came up, I tried again and it wouldn't let me activate.

    3) Nope, all the other episodes have worked perfectly. I downloaded those from the Telltale e-mails as well.

    4) Spy Sweeper

    5) I don't think so.

    6) Windows XP

    7) This is the first time it's happened to me.

    8) Same computer for all episodes.

    9) High-speed DSL (already connected with router)

I'll try uninstalling and downloading again.

Ok I re-installed and now it works fine (I probably should've done that in the first place :p). Thanks a lot! :)

Yes, you're right, but if I'd said "Will you answer nine questions for us" would you have done it? :p

Thanks much. I'm glad reinstalling fixed it for you.

EDIT: One more thing, could you PM me with your order number? I tried looking you up with the email address linked to your account but couldn't find it. Thanks!
