Favorite band by how they start

edited January 2011 in General Chat
I won't get philosphical, I've worked through a new concept on humanity. But, this is now my social forum as I cant post those sort of things here as much any more.

ANYWAYS , based on how the band typically starts their songs, what is your favorite band?

As of late based on this subjective standard mine is The Agnoist

I don't really have a favourite band based on how they start their songs, because often each of their songs opens in a very different manner. But, as for styles of intros, I personally like long-ish intros that sort of build slowly and make the actual beginning of the proper song sound that much better. Examples being Nightwish's "Cadence of Her Last Breath" and, even more-so, Dream Theater's "Home".

Wow, some one actually responded to my thread. Thanks. JedExodus, is that considered the punk genre?

It is sir. Unless you're talking about the Bee Gee's which is the "our whole band looks like bears" genre

Rory Gallaghers's band as it was almost always all out blues rock with all his soul put into it, also he was Irish!

I love and hate Metallica's intros.

I love them because they set a great mood for the song's story, and they often feature extremely satisfying guitar work.

I hate them because I love to sing karaoke, and I look and feel like a damn fool waiting for the vocals to kick in. I'm also easily distracted, so I tend to miss the cue to sing because I just start listening to the music. It doesn't help that most of the Metallica songs I feel comfortable singing are the ones with the longest intros.
