Sam and Max Season 2 Not Running

I just purchased the second season of Sam and Max, for Mac, and am having trouble getting it to run. In Ice Station Santa, the game freezes during the opening cut scene, and I have to reboot my computer. When I tried Night of the Raving Dead, there was sound, but the screen was black. My computer meets the requirements, too, so I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions.

    Would switching to windowed mode (by pressing command-f) and maybe changing the resolution help?
