Having finally caught up, now I myself can recommend you to watch

    Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Yes, I'm totally serious, give it at least 3 episodes.
    It's written by Gen Urobuchi

How can you say no to this face?

I watched this. The premise is like something you'd expect in an ecchi show, and the show is actually kind of a retake on Urusei Yatsura in some ways. I was actually surprised at how tasteful it was though, from the premise, except for maybe one scene near the end of the show, and even that seemed pretty tasteful to me too. Well, some of it came close to the fine line, but it managed to stay within the line. I recommend you check out Urusei Yatsura if you liked Onegai Teacher; I bet you'll like it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have been enjoying the series thus far and plan to get through it all eventually, though at what like 165 episodes and half a dozen movies I have my work cut out for me!

Another series I love that I forgot to mention earlier: Colorful , it's basically a bunch of short stories about guys trying to sneak a peek at panties and failing hilariously.

Recently saw Full Metal Alchemist - Brotherhood.

I really like how they remade the entire series like that - while I highly enjoyed the original series (which is what got me hooked on the show in the first place), this 'remake' is much better as this time they followed the manga much more closely.

The first one strayed away from the manga at around halfways in, as I believe at the time there was no more available manga for them to use, so they ended up making the rest up themselves.

Not that Brotherhood is a particularly new series anymore, I imagine most of the anime fans in here know it more than well enough already, but should you have missed out on this one (and you like this 'genre' of anime)... then I highly recommend it!

    HOLY FUCK! l LOVE GANTZ!!!

Definitely not for everyone, though. The... erm...
    dog scene
in that one episode attests to that. Also,
the last few episodes where everyone dies but Kei are just absolute BAWWWW fuel.

The Gantz anime is just one big fat commercial for the manga, just like Berserk's anime adaption is.

    I dispute!

    I dispute!
More like it's Satoshi Kon's magnum opus!

    I miss him.

Fell too far into GAINAX weirdness for me to fully appreciate. Still enjoy it, just not as much as you fellows.

Ergo Proxy is great. But......it gets confusing at times.

I know at least one of you people must be happy about this.

    Hello!

On a more serious note, I honestly think the game was very self-inclusive. I don't think it needs an anime. And the Persona anime track record has been... shall we say, poor?

Full Metal Alchemist- ok up until they run out of magna arcs then it just stinks
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood- better but the first part repeats some of the Magna arcs that I feel were better done in the first series. I almost quit watching it but since it ceased to be repeats it's a ton better than the first one.

Sorry but I like Pretty Cure right now and maybe none of you have heard of it but it's a magical grils series done by toei

I could not be sicker of this damn opinion right here from everyone who says it.

    I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

I noticed that there didn't seem to be a thread to talk about the anime we are currently watching so... I've been watching Rin: Daughters Of Mnemosyne recently. The storyline is rather intreguing but it is also one of the first mature anime that I've watched that I would only recommend for adults as there is quite a bit of torture-level violence and inhuman levels of sexual content usually paired with violence. But if you have an open mind, you might actually come to love this tale of angels and immortals.
Also a large fan of Shadow Star: Narutaru.
